The variety of the menu didn’t reflect the area’s cuisine. I hoped for more authentic options.
Stopped in at Tekarra Lodge on Saturday afternoon while road tripping through from Ontario and honestly it was one of the best meals we had in Jasper. We sat on the patio looking out over the valley and the view alone was worth the drive, but the elk bourguignon was fantastic too. Our server was super patient explaining the menu since neither of us had ever tried some of the game dishes offered. Stopped here for a quick bite with our dog on the patio a few days ago and they brought out a water bowl without us even asking. The elk medallions were honestly one of the best things I've had in Jasper, and the view of the mountains from the deck made the wait for a table totally worth it. Staff was friendly and didn't make us feel weird about having a dog tied up nearby, which isn't always the case at nicer places.
