The server asked us if we wanted water or tea, while not mentioning that tea has a fee.
I had the Pad Thai, -- no lime wedges, no cilantro and very few bean sprouts -- so lacking quite a bit of freshness. When we asked for some lime wedges we were given a tiny thin sliver of lemon to share between two people.
Too bad, the menu looks really good.

I recently visited Sawadee and we specifically went looking for true, authentic Thai food and it did not disappoint. My husband ordered the Chu Chee and Tom Yum Goong, while I had the Pad Prik Tai Dam, and everything was absolutely delicious.
One thing that really stood out was the menu. They offer so many authentic Thai dishes that we’ve been searching for but rarely find at other restaurants. It felt like such a treat to finally have those options available.
I also really appreciated how accommodating they were with my allergies, they made it easy to navigate the menu and ensured I felt comfortable with my choices. The service was quick, the place was clean, and our server was incredibly kind and attentive.
The food tasted fresh, flavorful, and high quality, and the pricing was very reasonable for what you get. This will definitely be our new go-to spot for Thai food. Highly recommend!

Very good food! I did feel like the pad thai could have used more shrimp and vegetables, as it was mostly just noodles.
As a vegetarian, I’m always a little cautious trying new Thai places—but this one fully delivered. I ordered the pad thai, green curry, mango salad, and spring rolls, and everything felt super fresh and thoughtfully made.
The pad thai was perfectly balanced—not too sweet, with great texture—and the green curry was rich, creamy, and full of flavour without being overwhelming. The mango salad added a really refreshing contrast, and the spring rolls were crispy and light, not greasy at all.
The service really stood out too—there was a very kind man serving us who made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. You could tell he genuinely cared, which made a big difference. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also lovely—calm, comfortable, and just a really nice place to sit and enjoy a meal.
I also had a really nice tea that paired well with everything, and the mango sticky rice at the end was the perfect finish—sweet, soft, and honestly one of the best parts of the meal.
Overall, a really satisfying vegetarian experience with great food, service, and ambiance. I’d definitely come back.

Sawaddee is my absolutely favourite Thai spot in Sherwood Park! Every time I order the food is hot and very obviously made fresh, the serving sizes are really good too!

Chicken larb was Way too sweet! Thai food isn't that sweet.
The curry was mild in flavors. I'm not talking heat spicy. You can add chili to anything to add heat. But the actual flavor of the curry was watered down with coconut and broth.
I do wish Thai restaurants were more authentic. They would have more people appreciating real Thai flavors if they were.
Also, something I'm not accustomed to is ordering rice separate from the main dish.
This seems to be the norm in Edmonton. Coming from Ontario, it was always the side to any main dish that wasn't noodles. It's definitely not traditional to eat meals without rice. So, having to order it as a side makes it very not Thai.
Service was ok.
