“Originally reserved a table for 12 last Saturday evening for a friends and family get-together to celebrate my wife birthday. Group size grew from 12 to 16, then to 18 the day-of. Management and staff were absolutely fantastic. They accommodated every one of our needs and did so without hesitation. They offered us a private room for our group and ensured we had everything we needed to make the evening special for my wife. All enjoyed delicious food and drink served to us by a caring, attentive, and clearly expert server Michelle, who pulled out all the stops to ensure we were all happy and satisfied!

“I got home today. Sat on the couch. But something was different.

For context, I had gone to east side Mario’s for a weird in between dinner and lunch. I know….. risky.

But I came through the door. Got to my seat. And we got to business.

A young man, Liam, glided around the corner and greeting me with his sparkling blue eyes. Set the tone. It was on.

Soon after, an angel appeared. His name was Connor.

These two made the impossible happen.

I’m a 21 year girl, my friend not much older. Indecisive. Girl dinner-ish. Scared. Unfamiliar with the Italian culture. Up against a big menu with an empty stomach.

One minute in:

BOOM, drinks ordered. Liam left….

Two minutes in:

LIAM IS BACK! With the DRINKS!

Peach frozee of sorts, recommend by both of the boys (they’re not afraid to enjoy a fruity cocktail, not too nonchalant for those activities) it hit. AMAZING!

Three minutes in:

The angel returns with hands full of bread, caeser salad, and potato bacon soup- I AM SMILING!

Connor has suggested a pesto Alfredo penne. This is new… but there’s more. Protein??! Veggies?! What do we do?!

Connors got it: add veg and prawns.

Food is amazing. Vibes are vibing. I’m bloated tbh but it’s okay…. Connor let us know, there’s desert.

It was my birthday, 21st, so naturally the cheesecake joined us.

“It's sad they are closing so many Swiss Chalets down they are healthy food at a reasonable price.
We've lost all of them in BC, so it was a real treat to find this one in St. Albert. The service was excellent and the food was delicious“

“My friend and I were at Original Joe's in early May of this year for lunch. We had just ordered our food when my friend lost consciousness at the table. Another customer and I supported her and I asked the waitress to call an ambulance. She immediately called one and we had 3 members of the staff at the table helping us. The ambulance came and evaluated her over about 20 minutes (she had regained conciousness). They then brought in a stretcher and we were taking her out of the restaurant to the ambulance. As we passed the kitchen the chef walked out and handed me a brown paper bag with the food we had ordered. I thanked him and said that I would have to square up with him later. He replied no, it was on the house.

I was so impressed with how the staff responded to this event and was completely over whelmed by the kindness of the chef in getting the food to us. We were in ER for a considerable length of time and having the food there made it so much better.

A great big thanks to the staff at Original Joe's - so profesional, responsive, helpful, and kind. I cannot say enough about my experience there!!“

“Egregiously underrated beer selection on draft. I've seen the tenured staff here (shoutout Jeff, Ally and co.) go above and beyond time and time again for clientele. Never have an empty glass, always down for good conversation when they've got time to chat. The food menu as well features in-house adaptations on some traditional dishes (unironically the best chicken tenders you've ever had) from an always consistent kitchen staff. Easily the best O2's in the city, and honestly one of the best hidden gem sports bars (for any event) to boot. Could not recommend this place any more! Take it from a career bar fly.“

“I always come here for breakfast when my car is being serviced down the street at Kentwood Ford. The food here is just what you would expect from a restaurant in a hotel. Tasty, fresh, and delicious. I've had about everything there is on the breakfast menu and my favourite is the waffles. Crispy outside. Soft and tender inside. With butter and maple syrup. With two eggs sunny side up (very runny) and three pork sausages. Absolutely fantastic!!!!“

“Food and service was good but what I found odd about the whole experience was the washroom. The urinals in the men's washroom are pretty high up against the wall. I'm 6'2" so it was OK, but I'm sure if anyone is under 5'8" you're going to have to arc your stream upwards into the urinal... or just use the toilet stall. Unsure why they're that high but it's the same in the Hotel lobby as well.“
