Did the Zookeeper experience and it was fabulous. Got to see the background scenes of how much work goes into the animals. The animals are all clearly well loved and cared for. They each had personalities and it was an experience we’ll be talking about for years. Highly recommend visiting the Alaska Zoo. They’re here for the animals and it shows.
We went into the zoo's coffee shop last Saturday, and the lady who rung us up had a serious attitude towards my husband. I guess she got confused when he changed his mind on what size/flavor smoothie he wanted, and was very rude to him when she had to change his order. On top of that, when he accidentally dropped our map, she picked it up, but slammed it on the desk. SUPER unprofessional. Food and drinks were good, but I hope she doesn't treat customers like that often.
The young lady at the register and making the drinks was rude, but the drinks themselves were okay, albeit a little to sweet.

Located on 25 acres of land in the Anchorage Hillside area, the Alaska Zoo Coffee Shop offers a unique experience for visitors. The zoo is spaciously laid out, with a variety of animals that can be easily seen while walking through the exhibits, including wolverines splashing in the water and a bald eagle. Visitors enjoy the affordable coffee options, cold drinks like smoothies, Italian sodas, and slushies, as well as homemade Filipino bread (Spanish, taro, and cheese bread). The zoo is clean, with animals that appear to be well-loved and cared for. Admission prices are reasonable, ranging from $10 to $20 depending on age and residency. The zoo offers maps at the gate to help visitors navigate the trails, which branch out in different directions. While some exhibits may be closed, the zoo is an enjoyable visit, with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.
