Ignore the latest review, this place has been permanently closed for a few months now. Bro went to the Ghost Marlin, very easy mistake to make.

It doesn't get more American than this. But maybe that's not always a good thing.

This is the best place in Fairbanks to meet new people, make friends, and find some of the greatest, most chill people that won't judge you or discriminate against you just for who you are. I credit this place for getting me out of my deeply introverted shell and allowing me to finally find a group of people that took me in and considered me someone that had worthwhile opinions, thoughts, and creative drives.Yea, and it's also a pretty good bar. The back room was always the greatest place to be. Best place to do the safe sex demonstrations and the counseling because of those comfy couches. Not sure how it's been remodeled, but I imagine it's been kept close to the original. Is the bottle of whisky still stuck in the wall? XDThis is a place where you can just breath and not be afraid to find a stranger and talk about your problems and end the night with a good friend. :)

Very small and limited seating. Slow bartenders. Didn't feel comfortable at all. Stairway banister being held together by tape. Pretty sketchy.

Plenty of memories at the Marlin, and it's been through some rough times, but personally I'm really excited to see what this new owner, Tony does with the this treasured watering hole that I love. I had the pleasure of a short conversation with this wonderful human being and you can tell he has plenty of hospitality experience and is invested. You always drink like a fish at the Marlin. Those who know, know.
One of the best live music and dancing nights of my life.

It’s open again!!! I performed here on Friday, it was open until 3am that night, live music started at 10pm. The quintessential Alaskan Dive Bar with heaps and heaps of Community History. This place is bursting with vibes and live music. No food served, but I bet food trucks are stalking this place and you probably can get food delivered. Yay! The Marlin is back in business! Its owned by the same folks that own the Big I.

I wish this spot had longer hours because after grabbing lunch, I immediately wanted to come back for dinner. So nice finding a Mexican spot with vegan choices that consist of more than just rice and beans or tacos without cheese. Two tacos for $9.
