“As a Juneauite, I get bummed every year when they close. Had the puff pastry salmon and escalloped potatoes today, had the garlic twisters last week- they hit every time. Going back for dessert soon. Lovely staff and it’s a great spot. Highly recommend!!“

“This was a great place to stop off on our trip around Juneau. Grabbed the halibut bites and a beer. Amazing fresh fish made with gluten free ingredients and in a separate gluten free fryer. Follow us for more great reviews and adventures. Quartertanknation on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube“

“Nice place for dinner with a great view of the water and surrounding mountains! We didn’t have a reservation (hint - make a reservation), but the woman at the front was very organized and efficient and got us in within 30 minutes. Great service, beer selection, and menu options - the blackened halibut tacos did not disappoint!“

“We were asked to sit anywhere, but then no one came around for another 10 min. The younger wait staff seems hesitant in serving us, finally the one who could be the manager came around and took our orders, dont get me wrong, they were all very polite, but not super attentive. Anyways, the Halibut and chips was OK, super thick and heavy batter, but good flavor. The burger was great, a bit overcooked, but blue cheese and bacon saved it. We also ordered a side salad, they brought us a cesar salad instead, we didn't send it back since we also like Cesar salad.“

“Great food for our hockey team!“
“So you’re telling me there is an ale house in the woods? How does everyone not know about this you say? Because it’s the coolest thing you’ve ever run into. Yes the beers are $10 billion each, but did I mention it’s a ale house in the middle of the woods? All kidding aside it’s a really cool place. Definitely check out. The trails up here are phenomenal. You take the gold belt tram to get up to the – well worth your time even if you’re just in for a cruise ship visit.“

“Food was great. Service impeccable. Cocktails delicious. Goat cheese with fig is enough for 4 people. The filet was tender and the wine a great match. But I went for my 50th birthday and somehow that information didn’t make it to the staff. I was not acknowledged at all nor did they even ask if we were celebrating anything special. Given the low attendance and high cost of the food I would have expected better. But a minor miscue on an otherwise exceptional meal. Alas, no reason to go back to Juneau but still worth the trip if you’re there and looking for an alternative to the standard fare in town.“

“Food was ok but not great. Sweet and sour chicken (and pork) was just breaded with red sauce poured over the top of it. Hot & sour soup was tasty but served warm. The fried shrimp on two of our orders was overcooked. Service was good, attentive waitress (but we were the only 4 in the restaurant for a late lunch). Overpriced meals even for Juneau.“
“We had a great. It’s a smooth ride and you’re able to see amazing views.“

“The Timberline Bar and Grill is located on Mount Roberts in Juneau. One rides the Goldbelt Tram up to the restaurant. They offer American food, and a full bar, as well as Seafood and are Vegetarian and kid-friendly. The views are of the Gastineau Channel in front and mountain waterfalls in back, from the outside patio. There is a lovely gift shop and clean restrooms.
This is a seasonal restaurant, closing at the end of October and reopening in April. Hours are subject to change due to weather conditions, but in the summer, they are usually open from 8-9. During the season, the restaurant offers live music and is available for private events.
One orders from the printed menu at the counter and pays before eating. Table service sets and condiments re self-serve. The food is then brought to your table.
We enjoyed our chili bread bowls. Both the chili and the bread-bowl were tasty; the chili was hot but not too spicy, and the bread-bowl was fresh. We felt that the portion size was a bit small.
I would recommend this place. The tram ride up was fun, and the restaurant was charming. It is accessible from the tram or one may hike up and ride down. Season Passes are available.
The tram base location is at the main cruise dock on Franklin St., and tickets may be purchased there.“

“Every year I make it a point to eat here. Judge a place by their food not by irrelevant opinions. 100% recommend if you want the best fish tacos in town at a reasonable price.“
