“First time in Valdez and starving for some halibut. Asked a couple of locals where to go for the best halibut in town. Poor Bettys was the answer. Delicious fresh fish deep fried in a thin crispy batter. Fresh fry’s cooked to order served with a very tasty tartar sauce. If you are craving halibut you are at the right place. Their food trailer is at the Valdez brewery, Order up a tastey brew while your meal is cooking. Yum!”

“I’m not usually a coffee drinker, but my boyfriend convinced me to give this place a try and I’m so glad he did! I ordered the Dark Mocha with oat milk, and it was absolutely delicious. I ended up coming back 3 days in a row just to get it again. I already can’t wait to come back!”

“Fairly typical Subway location, just with a bit higher prices due to it being a small town. Nevertheless, the ingredients seem pretty fresh and the workers were professional and friendly. Pretty clean establishment; a good choice for a quick meal.”

“If you’re looking for a fantastic meal in Valdez, make sure you stop by the Old Town Diner! We were served one of the biggest, most delicious burgers we’ve had in a long time, with plenty of topping options to customize it exactly the way we wanted. The crispy, perfectly cooked fries were the ideal complement, and everything arrived hot, fresh, and in a timely manner.

What truly made our visit memorable, though, was the warm hospitality of the owners. We enjoyed great conversation while experiencing the genuine friendliness that makes small-town Alaska so special. The combination of outstanding food, welcoming service, and a relaxed atmosphere made this one of our favorite dining experiences in Valdez. We highly recommend the Old Town Diner and will definitely be back on our next visit!”
