“What a wonderful experience we had at Overtime Grill and Bar! The food was outstanding! I had the Chicken Alfredo and my dear hubby had the Patty Melt! Both delicious! For a comfortable dining experience with beautiful surroundings, I highly recommend Overtime B&G! So convenient and accessible! Lots of parking! It might not seem doable, but Overtime B&G is the perfect spot for a party too! They rolled out the red carpet for us last Saturday! Our family was treated with kid gloves! Many thanks to Jon the owner for all you did to make our dining and partying experience spectacular! Highly recommend!!! A+++++++“

The food was great 👍 Tuna Dip, Fried Pickles, Cajun Pasta, Fried Shrimp, Seafood boil. We will definitely be back any time we are in the are.“

“WOW!!!! I can't believe how many years this has been open. I waitress here in 1996. Found out that I was pregnant with my daughter and couldn't work much longer. I loved this place. I worked as a graphic designer during the day and a waitress at night.“

“There are some restaurants you eat at once and enjoy, and then there are places like WT’s that feel like they’re stitched into the fabric of the community. After 39 years of being open, this place isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an icon in Bessemer. Honestly, it deserves to be considered a historic landmark.
We came in and had the bologna sandwich and the shrimp salad, and both were absolutely outstanding. The bologna sandwich was piled high, grilled just right, and hit every nostalgic note you could hope for. The shrimp salad was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. On top of that, the soup of the day was rich and comforting—true scratch-made goodness that you don’t find just anywhere. Even the sweet tea, served in a mason jar, felt right at home here.
But WT’s isn’t just about the food. It’s about the people. Meeting Wanda and Patti was an absolute highlight—they welcomed us like family, and that warmth is exactly why so many people keep coming back year after year. Reading through other reviews, you can see the same story repeated over and over: great food, great service, and the kind of Southern hospitality that makes you feel like you belong.
The atmosphere is cozy and unpretentious—nothing fancy, just real and genuine. You can feel the history in the place, and it’s clear how much love and effort has gone into keeping it thriving for nearly four decades.
If you’re anywhere near Bessemer, you owe it to yourself to stop here. Whether it’s for a quick lunch, a hearty dinner, or just to soak up the atmosphere of a true local gem, WT’s delivers. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why independent restaurants matter so much—because they’re built on tradition, pride, and community.
WT’s is more than a meal—it’s an experience, and one you won’t forget“
