Old CookStove Reviews
Delicious HOMEMADE country cooking (wood burning stove) the buffet is amazing, salad bar and dessert bar outstanding including homemade ice-cream! My new favorite restaurant!!
This is place is sooo good! One of my favorite restaurants to go to.
What makes this buffet unique from many in Alabama is the idea that these people don't half do anything. Most buffets have 3 or 4 dishes that they do very well and the rest are mediocre at best. Not here everything they have on the buffet is way over the top in taste and quality. Old CookStove is a small restaurant in North Alabama known for its delicious homemade chicken wings and Friday fish night. The buffet offers a wide variety of vegetarian options, perfect for those looking for a southern feast without animal products. The food is consistently good, with many meats like baked ham, meatloaf, and roast beef, along with vegetables such as creamed corn, mashed potatoes, cabbage, Lima beans, green beans, Mac and cheese, fried okra, and more. The dessert bar is a highlight, featuring fresh coconut cake, German chocolate cake, apple crisp, and homemade ice cream, which guests say are fabulous and among the best they've ever had. Visitors praise the quality and taste of all the dishes, which are far superior to many other buffets. Despite the popularity and full seating, the staff works quickly to serve drinks and refills. The decor is simple and sweet, and pay is at the entrance. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible with no steps or uneven surfaces. The friendly staff creates a welcoming atmosphere, and guests often enjoy buying goodies for sale. Many find the food to be real, home-cooked, and worth the drive from nearby areas, especially for the Friday night seafood buffet. The restaurant is a beloved family spot, offering great service and a variety of tasty options for all to enjoy.
