“We stopped by traveling and this was amazing. Very authentic and original barbeque and we know barbeque. First this place is the real deal, with the smokers going outback. The portions are huge, but the flavor is out of this world. Not a copy cat taste. This is genuine and somebody here really knows how to cook! My only complaint is there isnt one in my hometown. We had pork, collard greens, Mac and cheese pound cake. Everything was amazing. Picture was after I had already ate half my pork 😄😍😋“

“In all the times I've been going to Thorton's for the past 2, maybe 3 years , I have no complaints about the food. I always order a slab of their ribs for my family or when I have a craving for them. Reminds me of our ribs back home, especially when they just season it and don't add anything else on it. It does come with the sauce, but we like them just the way they are. I would either have my husband or grandsons cook rice on our rice cooker before I get home with the ribs because that's how we enjoy eating them. Lately, I've been ordering just a half slab because now the family is either not there to enjoy it with us, or they just don't want any. But guess what? On the times I've ordered half slab of ribs, they want to eat ribs. I told them if there's any left. This is my opinion of how I love😋 their ribs, and I'm sticking to it.😊 The young, I think her name is Jackie (hope I got her bame right), who takes my order knows me when I call to place my order. She is awesome. She is very courteous, professional, sweet, and always has a smile for her customers both on the phone or in person. “I would recommend the food but the customer service from one of the workers serving the food could be better, a dark skin heavy set older woman, older then me anyway…. I walked out today because I can’t stand terrible customer service. I own my business and would fire any worker who treated my customers poorly family or not. She literally had the lady in front of me scared to ask questions about her own food. I couldn’t deal with the attitude and walked out. The lady asked nicely how much for an extra piece of meat and when we heard the price we were shocked so we made a lil face. She was like it is what it is. OF COURSE it is but your attitude is not where it’s at. These folks got some good A** food don’t get me wrong I was so ready my mouth was watering but that whole thing threw me off. Do better and if you don’t like your job quit. I understand you are only one person. But it was only 2 of us in there ordering. No reason your lip should have been poked out as long as the Nile River. Have a great day“

“I'm not in phenix city much, but i was coming from auburn and wanted some bbq so i stopped by. Got chipped sandwiches and stew. Both were really good. The chipped meat was good quality, not paste like you'll get from other places. Good atmosphere too. Give it a try.“

“Had dinner here with a group of 5 while we were in town for a conference. Had to wait to be seated, no problem. Place started slowly clearing once we were seated. Our sweet waitress was new. However, it took us a solid 45 minutes to even get our drinks, and food was a little longer than that. The food was great though. But we got our food after 9, so we didn’t really get the time to enjoy it. Go, but don’t go in any rush.“

“Went to Country’s Barbecue and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and seated right away. Our server was super sweet and made the visit even better.

The food was a solid 12/10. We ordered the all-meat barbecue platter along with a baked sweet potato and coleslaw on the side — everything was delicious. To finish, we tried the coconut pie, and it was absolutely amazing.
