“6 out of 5 stars!Came into Columbus, GA for work and woke up starving. I found The Smokey Pig from a suggestion on my GPS and figured I would try it out. I showed up right as the owner, Robbie, was opening up at 10am. He was very cool and friendly. Let me try some of the meats he had on the open smoke rack while I was getting my bearings and deciding on what to eat. The place was clean and has a good amount of seating. The food: oh Lord, THE FOOD!! It was phenomenal. I had the chipped pork BBQ sandwich with their signature BBQ sauce and two sides: baked beans and homemade Brunswick stew. I got a second sandwich. I had to. Then he mentioned the chilled banana pudding and I was sold. All told with a Large fountain drink I spent 24$ (including tip) and I had half of it devoured before I left the parking lot. Spread the word: THE SMOKEY PIG BBQ is the best BBQ in Columbus, maybe even all of GA. Enjoy! ?Parking: There is plenty of parking but If you're bringing family and friends, maybe carpool.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy accessibility with no need for ramps or stair accommodations. I did not check the bathrooms.“
“Everything about the food and customer service is amazing! I have tried almost everything on the menu and cannot complain. From the Brunswick Stew, cabbage soup, ribs, pulled pork, chicken, Mac and cheese, baked beans, Jamaican cabbage, and sausage dog. I love it all and it is all so good. The food is definitely made with love and you feel the love once you approach the truck. Don't miss out on this flavorful food. Oh, and the sauce, it's one of the best BBQ sauces I have ever tasted.“
“Traveling through to Alabama, I found this place on Trip Advisor & it did not disappoint. 2 meat sampler with ribs & pulled pork were perfection. My sides of Brunswick stew & black beans & rice were a meal all themselves. My Husband loved his Mac & cheese and BBQ beans. I left with a very full stomach & go box. I LOVE it is Veteran owned. The ONLY thing better than the food was their pay it forward meal wall. In a time when so many are struggling what a kind, beautiful and needed gesture.“
“I have been going to Peppers for years. Their ribs are always really good! When I go I normally get the Pork platter with BBQ slaw and stew. The pork has a good smoked flavor. The sauces are a little on the thinner side but don’t lack in flavor. Their Red sauce is very tangy and delicious. Both sides are phenomenal. Better than Country’s BBQ and other popular local BBQ spots. Highly recommend Peppers!Parking: Parking is on the left side of the building or in the very front. Very easy to navigate.“
“We went for lunch on 3/30, a Saturday at 1PM. Was it packed, of course. Did the line move as quickly as possible, yes. The service was great and they handled the complainers nicely. The Q-Tater was delicious and the banana pudding was amazing. Some people acted like this was their first time being in a bbq joint on a Saturday afternoon with the amount of whining I heard in line, but this business is amazing.“
“A local BBQ joint with a lot of country lovin! One of the biggest surprises were the prices, you're going to eat well at a very reasonable cost. The Brunswick stew is delicious and the meat in general always seems to be cooked just right, someone knows what they're doing there!“
“Soon after landing in Georgia, we wanted to set off in search of some of that famed “Southern hospitality.” That journey wasn’t a lengthy one as we soon had the good fortune of meeting Adrienne at “Smokey Bones” in Columbus. She immediately greeted us with genuine warmth and made us feel right at home!We decided to go “all in” on our “all rib” entrees and enjoyed both their “Signature House Smoked Ribs” and their “Imported Baby Back Ribs.”While the deliciousness of their ribs was of no surprise, the quality of their sides was and the “Mashed Potato and Gravy” and the “BBQ Baked Beans” were good enough to emerge from the shadow of their entrée counterparts and forge their individual paths.I have to admit that I felt excitedly like we were being admitted to an exclusive Southern fraternity/sorority when Adrienne mentioned that she’d be bringing a “bone bag” to accompany our meals. I (eventually) figured out that she was bringing us a paper bag…for us to put our bones into…when we were finished with them. (It’s ok if you feel the need to read that a few times over to get the gist. That just means that you and I could then start that exclusive fraternity/sorority that I mistakenly thought already existed! ?♂️)While enjoying some BBQ in the South was something I had always aspired to experience, I also had my first taste of “Sweet Tea” and it was everything that I had hoped for. Sweet and flavorful, but without being ridiculously amped up with cups full of sugar. It was “tastefully done” just as I had imagined! Thanks Adrienne and “Smokey Bones” for welcoming us to the South! ?And that’s…Henry’s Take.#southernbbq#smokeybones“
