10 Best Japanese Restaurants in Hoover

“Moved to the area not long ago from Nashville. We were concerned about finding a good sushi place and have tried several around Hoover with not finding the right place yet. Tonight we decided to try Unagi and we are so glad we did! Edamame was fresh, wife had the Hometown Roll and I had the Big Al with Soypaper. They were both delish! Service was just as good. Also had the house ginger salad to round out an overall GREAT experience and meal! We will be back for sure and the bonus is living withing 2 mins. Thanks for a great experience!“

“My favorite neighborhood Sushi spot. Always super nice, reasonable priced and delicious. I usually get the hawaii roll and house Philly roll Togo and then enjoy a Sapporo while the sushi is being prepared. It’s a great way to finish off the day and dive into Netflix. Highly recommend!

Parking: It’s near target and Kohls , parking is no issue“

“i ordered pick up through toast takeout. i was a little grumpy when i went to get it bc i had put in for curbside and was comfy in my PJs and not wanting to get out. but when i called about where to park for curbside, there was some challenge in communicating. so finally went in to get it, in my pj pants. 🫠 despite that, i ordered hibachi steak and it was very large portions and freshly cooked. tasty too. not to mention good price for what you get. i’ll order here again for sure. they even remembered the spicy mayo. 💯“

“Great service and food. Bento style meals and the portions are appropriate for the price. The Hibatchi Bentos offers a full roll of sushi. The meat was tender. Gotta love that yum yum sauce. The ginger dressing on the salad had the right balance of sweetness.“

“Indoor shopping mall food courts usually have a hibachi styled one and this is exactly it. Been visiting for a few years now and the quality is still as good as it gets. Prices aren’t too bad and the serving portion is pretty big. Recently I tried their steak and it’s pretty good (medium rare). Their sauce is mostly on the sweet side so don’t ask them to put extra if you’re not a fan of that. Service is pretty quick but a queue builds during rush hour.“

“Hostess service was extremely slow. So I was worried the rest of the experience would be bad too.
Once you get seated at the Hibachi grill everything was phenomenal!!
The Chicken and Scallops were perfectly cooked and the fried rice was second to none! Best rice I've ever had. Portion sizes were impressive. I haven't stopped craving Stix since I went. Definitely planning multiple trips back. Best restaurant in Hoover in my opinion“
