“Hokkaido is one of the most popular Japanese restaurants in Tuscaloosa, so if you are looking to go here at a normal time ,expect a crowd. The food here is good, but a little on the saltier side. Most of the time, the food is fresh and seasoned well. The last visit I had, my salad was not so fresh, but the rest of the food was great. I am a sucker for crab Rangoon, but I feel like I get more of the fried batter than the filling. They still taste great, and the chili dip it comes with is fantastic. I usually stick with the chicken Hibachi. I have tried the steak and the filet, but if you get either, you will probably want to dip them in yum yum sauce unless the recipe has changed. Personally, if I have to use a sauce on a steak, i don't like it. I'm not saying the steaks aren't good. I'm just saying the chicken is better. My wife usually gets sushi rolls when we go, and they are delicious. The dragon roll is my personal favorite. All in all, if you go at an odd time or don't mind the wait, this is a great Japanese restaurant.“

Seriously, the noodles were cooked just right, the steak was cooked to the exact temperature I requested and had excellent flavor.The rangoon was fresh and delicious, and the tea was five stars.I almost didn’t order because of some local reviews saying the “yum yum sauce didn’t taste right” or “save your money and go to {insert local chain restaurant}” but I’m sooo glad that I did!I suggest keeping in mind when reading reviews that some people have only ever eaten at the places local to them, and think that chain restaurants are how food is supposed to be made.This was my first time eating at Crimson Japanese Grill, but won’t be my last!“
“Best sushi in all of Tuscaloosa & honestly the best sushi I've ever had!! I've been there a few times now & it's incredible. The place itself is very much a hole in the wall type of vibe but no one can beat this food!! The people who work there are so kind & efficient! It's more of a takeout type beat but if you're like me & like to sit somewhere that isn't home, it's actually a very peaceful spot to be. I recommend the amazing roll & the miso soup! :)“
