Maki Fresh - Huntsville

Solid stop. Not the best, not the worst — but good portions, fresh ingredients, and definitely hit the spot. I had a rice bowl with grilled chicken and spicy mayo, and it was more than enough for one meal (could’ve stretched it into two if I wasn’t traveling). Quick service, relatively healthy, and a good option when you need something fast but decent. Would stop in again.

Try the Vulcan roll and the sweet potato tempura.. you won't regret it!
They are always fresh, and consistent. The staff is always so nice, and they know our order as soon as we walk in.

This is one of my go-to places for lunch since it’s really close to my work. The food is amazing. And MOST of the time, the service is great. The owner/manager is very nice and the girl that’s usually at the counter is great.
But not today.
Today I placed an online order for pick up, and when I got it back to work, neither of the 2 sauces that I had paid for were included in my order. This is a minor inconvenience, but I had paid for them and tipped on them, and my meal was less enjoyable without them. So I called the restaurant hoping that they could just credit my account (I’m a rewards member) or put the cost of the sauces back on my debit card. Instead, I was met with attitude from whoever answered the phone.
First she tried to argue with me that my sauces were “mixed in” the bowl I had bought. No they weren’t. The 2 extra sauces are different (teriyaki and maki sauce) and it would be obvious if they were in the bowl.
Then, when I told her that the extra sauces are listed on my receipt and that they always come in a separate container, she said “Oops.” (And then she sort of giggled,) “Well did you want to come back and get them?” I said “No, I only get 30 minutes for lunch, and I already used 1/2 of it coming to get lunch and to get back here…” and before I could even ask if there was a way to credit the sauces, or maybe just make a note since I eat there about once a week on average, she said “I don’t know what you want me to do but I’m not going to redo the sale over 2 sauces”.
So I informed her that I would just find somewhere else to get my lunch and she hung up.
The food here is amazing, but I don’t think that I am willing to pay $18 plus tip if the great food comes with fast food attitude.

Got the sweet potato tempura and spicy tuna roll both were delicious! My boyfriend got the wontons and chicken salad and was very happy. Food was fresh and well flavored. Will definitely be back!

I absolutely LOVE Maki Fresh!!! It’s my favorite place when it comes to relatively fast & healthy/filling food. I get the grilled chicken & Brussel sprout bowl with extra sauce. The sauce they put on it is so good I wish they’d bottle it lol. I could honestly eat MK every day & be content. I have tried other items & everything I’ve eaten there has been delicious but I’m a creature of habit so I almost always get the chicken/brussel sprout bowl. Go try it, you’ll love it too!!!

My girlfriend and I arrived at 6pm, eager to try Maki Fresh. However, we were the only patrons at the time, and most tables remained unclean. Furthermore, the bathrooms were also unclean and lacked toilet paper. The food was mediocre, with the sushi being bland, although my girlfriend found her steak miki bowl to be satisfactory. We are unlikely to return.
