“Always great food and customer service Travis has been doing his thing now his son is doing the exact same thing came all the way from Houston, TX to get his food and still great as usual but I will say this they need to remember the regular customers and keep certain things they way they are because that's what regular customers know them for. Put them bell peppers back on y'all stuff cause when I lived here years ago that's how it was but the son told me recently that a lot of people don't like them i said to him well I had been coming to this truck 20+ years and I know hundreds of people that prefer the old way better even if it's on the side I'm okay with that so upon request you can just cook it with mine and I'm good. I understand you have to change with the times but some things just shouldn't change.“
“I’ve been a long time customer here at this location for a very long time and I’ve never ever had a bad experience. Tyrone & Christopher both are awesome!! They are the most respectful, they are patient, both seem to be well experienced , and always greet and smile to me and every customer that I see walk through that door. The cooks are well experienced and the food is always fresh. I’ve never had a long wait there that’s why I always try to tip them when I stop by and order, because it’s the people like them that deserves to be rewarded for their Outstanding Customer Service…I must say that Tyrone’s personality stands Out! I Love That Guy Attitude. He seem to be always positive!!!I’ve met the owner a few times and he also has a great attitude when helping expedite. I must say that this owner has a great team!!!!! “Was in the area and decided to try this place. The food was excellent! The pimento cheese burger was fantastic, and the seasoned fries were very tasty. Also not too expensive, though like many places these days they ask for a tip before you’ve received any food or service. Fortunately, both were great.“
“The food was pretty good I got a grilled chicken sandwhich and onion rings. My only complaint is the price compared to the amount you get for an upcharge on onion rings you should get a little more then you do. Otherwise wonderful food, very friendly people, nice small lil joint to stop into.“
“I've been driving past this place for months and thought I needed to try it. Today was the day, Chili Cheese dogs for me and Slaw dogs for a co-worker. Fries and Tots too, both of out meals were good, friendly people behind the counter too. Looks like they have a good variety of other standards for this type of small restaurant. “I’m so glad I discovered this little hot-dog gemstone nestled up on the hill between Southeastern Salvage and Irondale Pickers. The hot dogs were fabulous- it was almost nostalgic. I haven’t had a hotdog that great in a minute!!! Nice, laid back, clean atmosphere. Owners are very friendly too!“

“I had a great evening in the Pizitz Food Hall. I decided to try out this place and the employees were very nice. They allowed me to patiently take my time to choose the topping I wanted. The employees made great suggestions on what I should try for the first time. I ate a hot dog and it was so delicious! It came out fresh and was so full of flavor. I recommend to try their hotdogs with grilled onions and their chipotle sauce! The atmosphere of the workers were unforgettable! Thank you all for being so supportive and generous to me!“
“I stopped at Dawsons hooing to get homemade ice cream. Howeverthe ice cream palor portion was closed down. That didn't stop me from checking out this hole in the wall (my kinda place). Ms. Dawson was extremely nice and patient wich me as i couldn't choose between a burger or fried chicken. Im so glad i chose the chicken. Omgoodness!! She cooks everything to order. And i didn't mind waiting, especially for fleshly prepared food. When she gave me my box and i popped it open, everything was placed with care and love!! I could tell she loved cooking for ppl. And i loved my food!! The wings and fries were perfecto!! Crisp hot and with a light batter that crunch when i bit into the wing and the fries piping hot lightly salted and so good! Not muxhy and sweated out. I enjoyed every bite. I tos Ms Dawson.. "Ms Dawson!!!! Ill be back!!" If you're ever on 4th ave N and see the shop trimmed in red!! Stop in!! “The food was great... The only reason why I gave a 4 for service is because they forgot to skip the onions on my bacon cheddar cheeseburger. And I gave them a 4 for atmosphere because there were only 5 customers including us there at 230p so I couldn't really tell how it would normally be when it was busy... Overall I will definitely be backParking: There is not a drive thru so you have to park somewhere. Well, there is not much room around store for parking and NO BiG vehicle will fit in the parking lot next to location downtown. The parking shared by everyone around location only has about 30 spots and then there are another 20 spots on street, some free and some with meter. There are 7-10 food choices in block for dining so it can be tiredsome to find parking but going during off peak times would help..“

“Best cheeseburger in town! The bun is so soft and good--never frozen--the burger itself cooked just right, the fries were hot and delicious. The chocolate shake is better than chick-fil-a's and it comes with a bigger straw. We will definitely be back. The staff was very nice and appreciated us being there.“
“Can't really speak for lunch as I've only eaten there once (was good), but breakfast is fantastic. I love the ladies that work in the mornings together. Super sweet & very hard workers. Unlike many places, I don't feel like I'm a burden for being there.“
“A B'ham classic with exceptional dogs, every time. The hot beef is delectable. As is the super cheese, all the way. Whenever I'm in town, I make a trip or two to Sam's. The new location has plenty of space and good lighting. Food served quick.“
“Sol's Hog Dogs is a staple. I don't know their historical background BUT they really have been around forever!! The location in Norwood is what I remember growing up. I had been trying to get my hands on some Sol's since before Easter. Unfortunately, they don't answer their phones. So annoying! The day I visited for lunch, it was packed. I placed my order at the counter and they call out your order when it's ready. This could cause some confusion. What if multiple people ordered the same thing?! I had no issue with my order but there's definitely a more effective way...... My 2 hotdogs (well done) all the way were fantastic!!. Fries were just okay. Skinny and borderline greasy. I still ate them all up! lol Next time I will dine in instead of eating in the car. Highly recommend. You are certain to take in the rich history they have created within the walls of Sol's hotdogs!“
“Great dogs, Birmingham staple. The kraut and the special sauce hot dog is phenomenal. I could smash like 5 of them no problem. The beef special dog is basically like the original dog with kraut, mustard and the sauce with the addition of ground beef on top. Soooo good!! Lastly the chili cheese dog is quintessentially American in a food. Classic. Environment is a tight space but you wouldn’t want it any other way. The service was friendly and prompt. This is a must stop in Birmingham.“
