Mr. G's Reviews
The $12.65 “Mr G’s” salad is served in the same bowl as their $3 side salad. The drink was a 24 oz cup absolutely filled to the rim with ice and cost $2.69. So, 5 oz of soda, a side salad portion for $17.50. There is no value. Period. The restaurant has been here for 30+ years and they aren’t spending their profits on replacing the parking lot or updating the interior. I can’t think of a singer reason why I would ever come back
Ok I love Mr G’s in Northport but we just had the worst experience there. We ordered 2 ham and cheese sandwich’s, one with fries and the other with side salad. After around 45 minutes with no food I went to check on it. The cashier went in the back and asked about it and they were shaking their heads so she came and printed out another ticket. Mr. G's is a casual restaurant with no table service but offers tasty food at reasonable prices. The menu, printed on paper, includes options like baked ziti and lasagna. The service can be hit or miss, with some customers mentioning a lack of friendliness. The salads are decent but could use more variety in ingredients. While the lasagna lacked flavor, the ziti had a nice spice to it, and the garlic bread served with the meals was soft and flavorful. Recent visitors praised the food, especially the spaghetti and meatballs, which had an authentic Italian feel, and the pizza with crispy crust, pepperoni, and mushrooms. The restaurant is kid and service dog-friendly, and the booths are roomy, adding to the comfortable atmosphere. However, some experiences have been less positive, with complaints about long wait times and unhelpful staff. The entrance is not handicap accessible, with heavy doors that can be difficult for those in wheelchairs or with walkers to open. Despite occasional service issues, many customers continue to enjoy the overall quality of the dishes and the welcoming environment.
