“This place is a hidden gem in Pleasant Grove. 15-20 minutes from Birmingham and with the drive. The owner is so friendly and welcoming. The food is very fresh and delicious, you can tell there's a lot of love put into it. There are American choices for the less adventurous eaters and children's menu, also vegetarian options! My personal favorites are the falafel plate, Greek salad, tahini sauce, hummus and baklava. All homemade! Go try it, you won't be disappointed!”

“I hate I didn’t take a picture… but I got a cheeseburger combo with Cajun ranch fries… the burger was seasoned so good and had that “straight from my house” taste and the Cajun fries didn’t make it past the parking lot!!! Everything was good and I will definitely be back!!!”

The workers are so friendly and have a board of photos of customers who came to their last building, my family and I are on it because my family has been going even before I was born. “Just visited Jack's in pleasant Grove, Al. The young manager was outstanding. I'm 60years old and retired Navy and I've never seen a fast food manager praise their employees on the spot! I didn't get her name, but a short black young lady with a piercing in top lip. She should be in a front office somewhere, her attitude is infectious! I love the positive vibes!”

“Went here after a cheer competition! We had a large party and were set quickly! Our waitress had multiple large parties and was absolutely fabulous! Food was amazing! The kids enjoyed the outside area while waiting on food! Very accommodating to allergies and picky eaters! Highly recommend! Only con is that they don’t have one in Murfreesboro, TN!!”

“Moved to the area not long ago from Nashville. We were concerned about finding a good sushi place and have tried several around Hoover with not finding the right place yet. Tonight we decided to try Unagi and we are so glad we did! Edamame was fresh, wife had the Hometown Roll and I had the Big Al with Soypaper. They were both delish! Service was just as good. Also had the house ginger salad to round out an overall GREAT experience and meal! We will be back for sure and the bonus is living withing 2 mins. Thanks for a great experience!”

In addition, they offer throughout the week live music entertainment, 1/2 off wine on Wednesday, kid’s eat free on Tuesdays, Cooking classes, and bouncy house for kiddos on the weekends. “This is where I take visitors from out of town. This is where I encourage people to try it out for a special meal. LOVE this place. EVERYTHING is good. Bacon bomb app? Yes, please. Shrimp and grits? The BEST this side of Savannah (better here, really). From salads to kebabs, everything on the menu is good. The service is friendly. And the prices are very, very reasonable. I’ve never had a disappointing meal from the Front Porch.”

“They are a small business food truck that demonstrates nothing but exemplary customer service. My husband went by while they were in Helena for their to die for peach crumble. They were out of the dessert but they offered to make half a pan for us and said they will have it ready the next day at their next location at Shelby Baptist. I went by to pick it up and not only did they have it ready but they brought it out to me at my car. They are such nice people and I’m very happy at the customer service they display. Let’s support Battle Axe and I urge you to make it a point to go by and try all of their scrumptious food. Thank you Battle Axe.”
