“What a fabulous serendipitous find while on our way to nearby Lake Guntersville. We were searching for something eclectic in this area which has a plethora of steak, burger and pizza restaurants. Hector's Kitchen was an unexpected delight! Hector, of Colombian decent, grew up eating and preparing Cuban food! He started this special restaurant in 2017 offering authentic Hispanic fare. To begin, we enjoyed the chips and fresh salsa. Billy had the Colombian Special with beef! I had the Huevos Pericos dish with two eggs, yellow rice, black beans, grilled maduros (oh my!) and toast with a guava butter...I added the amazing pulled pork! Both entrees fantastic! Black beans are best we have ever eaten. Desserts were great, too! Flan was excellent- smooth throughout, perfectly cooked. And the fresh plantain bananas foster with a caramel butter sauce poured over a graham cracker crust cheesecake was unmatched. Love the eclectic and colorful atmosphere. No pretense. Just good food, prompt and friendly service and leaves you wanting to come back for more! I want to try the Cuban sandwich. A favorite among locals. Eager to eat that unique grilled corn on the cob too! The wings sounds tasty as well. Lots of dessert selections too. Plus their coffee is reviewed as being excellent! “Stopped here yesterday while traveling for brunch. Service matched the food. Everything was top tier. The complentary fruit before our meal was a nice touch. Great drink prices. “I love the old decor and age of this building. We had the side salads with the house made Italian dressing which was really good. We ordered the better girl pizza. Deep dish pizza with fresh quality toppings. They definitely have their own take on pizza it's not your traditional stuff. Its better than any of the chain pizza places out there. Plenty of cheese good sauce nice crunchy edges. Highly recommend.“

“My second time visiting and I had similar experiences both times. If you are visiting for the first time and sitting at the bar, it’s always unclear if someone will come take your order or not. Once we finally got someone’s attention service was good. We shared the burger that came with tasty fries. We had it medium raw and last time it was almost still mooing so consider that when you order. Their food menu is pretty small—-basically salads, burgers and hot dogs, or pizza. A larger appetizer menu would be nice.“

“best thin crust pizza I have had in a long time. a friend and I went for my birthday celebration. we love trying new places, and came from Pell City & Ragland. loved the 80s pizza parlor atmosphere, took us both back to our teenage years! especially seeing the old style video games! We were going to play but there were about 20 kids who came in after us so we let them have at it. next time for sure! again, that pizza was delicious and we fought over the last piece. I won, my birthday. oh, and the cheesecake was delicious, and we love Halee“

“Initially I gave a 1 star because we had Been here since 5:50 it’s now 7:25, and still no table. I get that we are a big party; but don’t tell people 30-40 minutes and it be over an hour wait!!

However they redeemed themselves with excellent service and good food.“

“went to supper with my sister and we had a great waitress and wonderful food! the burger was good and so was their skillet queso. their customer service was great! when we went to leave my steering wheel was locked up and we were having trouble getting it unstuck to crank my car. there was two workers going to take their lunch and they grabbed two others to help us out. so four of the wonderful workers helped us get my car going! they were great!“

“After driving 7 hours, we found this place open and was almost time to close (about 30 minutes). They received us in a polite manner (not in rush). The food was so flavory, the meat and the chicken breast well cooked. The server was very nice.“
