“This hidden restaurant is such a delight. I live in Phenix City, and I was looking for some crawfish and this establishment came up near me in the city of Smith Station, Al. I arrived at the place to be told they didnt have crawfish until the weekend, but they did have a lot of other seafood. I got the Shrimp boil and Cajun seafood rice. Both were great. I didn't care for the sausage but everything else was very desirable. I returned a second time and I got the neck bone boil. Be aware I got the large and this will feed a small family and it's so good. Now for my meal today. I ordered the rideye steak medium well. The temperature was perfect and seasoned very well. For my sides, i ordered Mac and Cheese. The M&C is great very creamy and has a massive amount of cheese. Yes I am a cheese fan so I loved it. My Second side was mashed potatoes with extra gravy. It was good but not great. Now let's talk about the cooks. They are super friendly and very well spoken. Just know all food is made fresh so I love it. So if you don't have time, just come when you have the time. This restaurant is a must eat at if you are in Phenix City, Smith Station, Al or Columbus, GA. It's great soul food and america cuisine. Please plan a visit and support this business.“
“This was an excellent experience from the moment we walked in our waitress Virginia was outstanding and friendly. She was very attentive and helpful which made our first visit comfortable. Then we had the cheese curds which were very good. I ordered the oxtail, which was amazingly cooked and seasoned, the Cajun corn which was perfectly cooked, and the fried okra which you could tell was fresh okra and well cooked. My girlfriend had the fried pork chops, which was super moist and well seasoned, with some amazing fresh cooked collards. This was an overall great experience and we will definitely be eating there again and I would recommend this place to anyone. This place is a hidden gem that we should be fighting to get into. If you haven’t tried it you should.“
“I am happy as I write about my experience here. I haven't been over actually in a while I used to come more regularly but I've been cheating myself by not coming as regularly I used to. As you can see I have catfish fillets, collard greens, and macaroni and cheese and trust me I am very well pleased! If you are over here In Phenix City Alabama please with emphasis do yourself a favor and support these ladies out of 10 stars I give them 20.“
“This is a true treasure in Phenix City Alabama delicious Comfort soul food this young lady and her family recipes are truly delightful I must say the cornbread is awesome it's a sweet cornbread the kind that I like I'm from California and we do our corn bread on the sweeter side it's not that down home cornbread southern style which I do like sometime but I truly love the sweet cornbread the food here plentiful delicious and makes you want to slap your mama but the sign on the door said don't slap your mama that's not nice the young lady Miss Lucy is so kind I recommend anyone just stop by and try anything on the menu all the food here is goodKid-friendliness: do not have a kids menu as far as the eye can see they have a great little table with an extra large checkerboard attached how fun is that for the kiddos“
“Food is okay. Squash is always good. However, the other vegetables aren’t as good. Cabbage taste gross & the noodles from the Mac & cheese is always over cooked. Idk if it sits on the line too long or what but if they can make those small changes i would literally eat here everyday.“
“Enjoyed lunch at Bertha’s Kitchen on the recommendation of “Julie 2” a family member of the restaurant who lives in Maryland. I had bake chicken, Mac & Cheese, red rice. All yummy. My family enjoyed fried scallops, shrimp, soup. The staff were organized, professional, and friendly. Lots of folks come in for take away meals, so there was plenty of seating available. I will be back!“
“I love Minnie’s. The food is so good that I would eat here no matter what. However, this place is run by some of the nicest people in town. I ordered a pan of cornbread dressing to bring to our work thanksgiving potluck. I picked it up frozen the day before and after 20 hrs in the fridge and an hour in the oven, it was time to leave the house and my dressing was still not ready. I called Minnie’s in a panic to ask if they had another hot one I could pick up right then, and they did. Even though it was not their fault, they were incredibly accommodating and refused to let me pay for the second pan. They were so kind and absolutely saved the day. And most importantly, the dressing was piping hot and absolutely delicious. Thank you, Minnie’s. ?“
“We were driving to columbus when we saw the smoke and decided that we would stop on our way back home. Was soooo worth the stop. The gentleman who prepared our food was so nice as well as the lady who check us out. But the food... 11/10. The ribs were some of the best ribs that I have had in a while, the mac and cheese fantasic, and the collard greens were delicious. I hope to go back very soon to try their other meals!“
