Amazing place to eat. Good margaritas, great fajitas and their homemade hot sauce is amazing.

Matehuala Mexican Restaurant offers a delicious queso flameado and a unique hibiscus tea, known as jamaica. The flameado is best enjoyed straight away, while the jamaica has a good, bitter taste, similar to dark chocolate. The restaurant, known for its amazing food and attentive service, is a family business where the owners ensure an enjoyable visit. They are willing to accommodate special requests, such as fajita butter. However, it is recommended to have a designated driver when indulging in their generous mega margaritas.
The restaurant has a quiet and cozy atmosphere, which many customers appreciate. The food is consistently praised, with the Chile Rellenos and enchiladas being standout dishes. Customers have been dining at Matehuala for decades, even through a name change, and they continue to return for the wonderful food and friendly staff. The owner is described as a wonderful and sweet person who goes the extra mile to make customers feel special, even singing to celebrate birthdays. Overall, Matehuala Mexican Restaurant is considered a hidden gem with reasonable prices and an enjoyable dining experience.
