I must say, this is truly one of the best places in Tuscaloosa, my fiancee loves the urban cowboy sandwich, we walked in and she immediately knew what she wanted. I however didn’t, I asked the gentleman at the counter and gave him 3 options of what I think sounds good on the menu and asked him which of those are the best? Overall food was good. Some of roasted veges were burned so gave a bit of bitter taste.
Healthy alternative. Great food. Beautiful part of the city.

Urban Cookhouse serves delicious, high quality, locally sourced food that satisfies diverse tastes. The restaurant is clean, and the service is excellent. Orders are taken quickly at the counter, and food arrives in about 10 minutes. Popular dishes include the Cowboy sandwich, El Cubanano sandwich, Local Mix salad, Quesadilla, and Pimiento BLT. Prices are reasonable, around $15 per person. While the steak plate portion is small, the food is tender and flavorful. The menu is simple and easy to order from, with healthy choices for kids. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, with an outdoor patio that will be more conducive as fall comes. Turnover is pretty fast so finding a seat is not difficult. There are spaces all around the building for parking. The restaurant is accessible by wheelchair, and the staff is helpful.
