I ordered 4 $5.99 meals, 2 orders of cracklins and 2 small ice waters through the drive through on Thursday evening (5/23/24). My total bill was 32 dollars and some odd cents. (Sorry but I left my receipt at home and dont exactly remember what the change amount was.) I wasn't expecting to be charged for water or cracklins so was curious what made my bill so high. Captain D's in Valley, Alabama, is a top-notch restaurant with fresh, hot food. The grilled whitefish & shrimp is a must-try, while the fish, fries, popcorn shrimp, and hush puppies are also delicious. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable, although parking can be tight. Food is hit or miss sometimes with spices or amounts. Service is slow but that is expected. The chatty woman at the window is sooo nice and makes it seem like you are at a family restaurant. Captain D's is definitely worth a visit.
