Don't miss these Mountain Home Mexican restaurant gems.
“The food was delicious, the staff was attentive and friendly. Their nachos are to die for. I felt like I was in a retro 1950s diner with the classics from that era playing on the radio. Loved it!!! If you want a good meal for a low price you should definitely come try Ruben' s Fiesta out. Most definitely will be coming back. Keep up the great work!!!“
“I love the veggie protein burrito ? since I don't eat meat. It takes a few minutes longer than the other items but is so worth the wait.Great toppings and sauces. Great service. The top deck can be beat for a chill day.On top of it all, the building was repurposed so well after the prior restaurant caught fire and burned mostly down. This could have been a huge blight and downturn for the square on Mountain Home. But instead the creative local folks and owner made it an opportunity!Apparently when life gives you fire; Make burritos!Vegetarian options: The veggie protein takes a bit longer but is well worth the wait.“
“Why is this place in mountain home? It's objectively good. It could thrive in Dallas. From the fresh made Salsa to the fajitas to the drinks. If only they would get flan in the rotation. I've traveled all over the country, and this restaurant is now in my top 3 favorite anywhere.“
“Salsa and guacamole are 5 star, every time! I'm never scared to try new dishes here, it doesn't matter what I order, it's going to be good! We always leave with leftovers and my kiddos are always happy-dancing in their seats. I highly recommend the avocado dip and they have the BEST sweet tea!“
“Looking for some good Mexican food and a tasty margarita, we tried LA Paloma in Mountain Home. It did not disappoint.I wish every restaurant served Fresh Guacamole, freshly diced avocado tossed in lime, cilantro, red onion and tomato, as this one does. The Carne asada street Tacos were also excellent. My berry margaritas was a sweet accompaniment. The only downside here for me were the chips. I prefer mine thinner and made from white corn. Service was excellent and atmosphere was spot-on.This place should be packed. I would go again and recommend.“
“El Chico Cafe never fails to impress! The food consistently exceeds expectations, and the service is top-notch. The staff is incredibly friendly, making each visit feel like a welcoming experience. I highly recommend trying their special for two, which offers fantastic value for money. With an appetizer, two delicious meals, and a delectable dessert included, it’s a delightful culinary journey that’s well worth indulging in. Whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor, El Chico Cafe always delivers an outstanding dining experience.“
“Never feel in a rush but the food comes out as expected. Staff nice and helpful. Lots of food with laid-back atmosphere. Also, it's good if your hauling something big. Good parking. As opposed to Nascar parking.Dietary restrictions: The new Alpha-gal Syndrome is hitting this area hard. .y husband just got off a ventilator a couple weeks ago. Blessed he is home. But reading labels for ourselves cooking at home much less elsewhere with cross contamination... it's a real fear. Would be nice ro see in the menu for strict allergy diet folks big bold print and Milk Products, what are the " Natural flavors, wlll my food touch or come near in any way to any mammals this includes the seasoning. Out died .... I've turned into one of those ppl. But when you have a close call with death a few times. I now have no other choice. But this was and is or fav place. We just don't want to be a hassle. Keep up the good work. Your fantastical“
