“Just like the real mexican restaurants back in Chicago! That is saying a lot, too. Not to many restaurants get a good review out of me down here, but Dona Chuys gets high marks. Its not haute cuisine, but it is authentic mexican comidas. We'll come here everytime I have to go to Batesville.“
“If I could visit here daily I would. Love the steak tacos!!Dietary restrictions: The tacos (thought not Keto) are low-carb. If the tortilla is too much just eat the meat with the pico, lime, & salsa. Ooo-WEE!! So good!Parking: I have never had an issue with parking“
“Great place to eat. My kids love this place and don't want to go anywhere else to eat Mexican food. Great place to have a birthday or celebrate any occasion. I would eat here every day if I could. Always great staff and they bring your food out promptly even when really busy.“
“Not much to say other than it was some of the best Mexican food we’ve had all over the country! Super flavorful which is not always the case. On top of that, portion sizes were huge and we were shocked the prices were so low. Beer was super cold, and the margarita was fantastic. Service was perfect too, they aren’t just sending anything out of the kitchen- I think the Hawaiian fajitas had over 8 shrimp along with every other meat. Check this place out if you are in the area!“
“It's difficult to miss this bright blue and pink building of El Palenque and the inside is just as colorful. We arrived with a crew of 8 and the staff didn't even blink. We were seated immediately and asked for our drink preference. There were a lot of tacos ordered at our table and El Palenque was right on it. Our server was attentive and never let our drinks get empty. I'm sure a few other delights like enchiladas and fajitas were ordered but the tacos had the majority. Everyone was happy and full by the time we left.Pro Tip: Order some queso to go with the chips and salsa they bring out.“
“It was the first time we went here. We were in town for the lights festival and stopped here for dinner. We chose this place because they had a vegetarian menu for my wife and daughter. The place was almost empty but damn the food was good. It wasn’t a real large portion but it did fill you up. The chips were nice a warm too! The only problem was the waitress went to refill my soda and my sons water but forgot to bring back my sons water?. The price was very reasonable $30 for the 4 of us.“
