My Cycle Buddy, Randy S., out on Oahu introduced me to Penicillin. Not not the antibiotic but the drink! It's a blend of scotch, fresh lemon, honey-ginger syrup, and a smoky Islay scotch float. As someone who enjoys a ginger and citrus, you can see why this drink would appeal to me.

This place does it decent. The balance was off. It was smoky but the ginger was light and the citrus only came when you rub the rind across the rim. It wasn't nearly as good as the one I got to steal sips of while on Oahu.

That said, I'm not sure I'll be back. There are so many amazing cocktail parlours in DT Chandler, all within walking distance. As a matter of fact, my gal pal and I paid for our Penicillin and Old Fashioned and went across the little streets for Carajillos.“

“We were in town to visit relatives and they didn’t want me to miss the Army/Navy game. If you walk into 95% of bars in Wisconsin this is how it would look, except in Arizona. Staff was wonderful food was good had pizza, wings and dogs all were good, excellent selection of beer. Met several other veterans while here had a great time, thanks for making the game so enjoyable.“

“"Manager" Amy served what she claimed was a lemon drop, confirmed she made it with vodka and sprite, then when I explained the specs in a lemon drop she told me "I'm wrong" she claimed she googled it, and then claimed I must have never been a bartender. I currently run a bar program for a multi-operation franchise, as well as being pretty competent as a bartender so I'm pretty sure I know how a lemon drop is made. Included is what it looks like when you "Google a lemon drop". I get it's a "dive bar" I used to work in one in Tempe for years, but you also don't argue with the people paying you for drinks when they try to clarify what they order. Further, she then confronted the person the lemon drop was for, and threatened to call the police on her for complaining?? I'm not sure what the police were gonna do but they'd probably make a better lemon drop than this lady did.“

One final note worthy fact is what ever your taste in music you're bound to find a show here for on any given night.“

“Great little local spot, got a bit crowded. Drinks were good, but service could be slow at times because there was only one bartender. They have two pool tables but only one is fully usable. I would recommend if you are looking to hangout with friends and meet some cool, friendly locals. Definitely will visit again next time I'm in town.“

“Excellent food, a nice place to eat for an airport motel area. Walked from the Marriott Phoenix Airport Motel (five minute walk at most), next time will stay at the Hilton complex. Price may be slightly higher, but access to food is well worth it. The atmosphere of the place is laid back with no high volume, can actually carry on a conversation.“
