This place could be so much cooler if the baristas were just like 10% more interested in making coffee. Yesterday, I hadn’t even finished paying before the cashiers back was to me. Probably I wouldn’t have cared if my latte was right, but it was not. It was luke warm and missing vanilla as requested, which is exactly how I don’t want my $9 latte. There’s so many good indie coffee shops in the area, I just may need a break from here.

Spent about 2 hours here taking work calls and catching up on emails during a recent work trip. The atmosphere and service was great! The spot is a converted old house with a great feel and aesthetic. The lattes were great, got the job done and were very tasty. If you’re in the area, you couldn’t go wrong swinging by for a quick drink or even some swag!

Love the Cartel's coffee place at Desert Ridge in Phoenix. Is always a pleasure to go there and I always go to have my morning coffee there. The baristas are very polite and very pleasant.

Drove through on my way home being super tired and really craving a quality coffee on the road and not Starbucks. I walked into this refrigerator heaven (or was hot as hell outside). I asked the cute barista if they could make a non menu drink, and they had two crazy artisanal options. I got exactly what I wanted and more. The espresso tonic was one of the greatest coffee drinks I’ve ever consumed. Next time I’m here I’m coming back. And whoever was working sept 15, give them a 50 percent raise. Great canned beverages and clean bathroom. Seemed great to go to to work on a laptop if you like that.

The baristas have great vibes, and they've got the best drip coffee in town. It tastes as good as a pour over imo

PSA, there is not a drive through as Google indicates.

Cartel Coffee at the Coronado location has a lot going for it: convenient location, easy parking, friendly service, and excellent coffee. Under normal circumstances, it would be an easy five stars.

The consistent problem is with the online ordering system. When placing orders, the app/site gives one pickup time (usually 70–75 minutes out). After submitting, I’ll often get a message saying my order will be ready in 15 minutes—yet the confirmation text still reflects the original longer pickup time. The result is frustrating: when I arrive on time for the scheduled pickup, my Americanos are lukewarm, iced drinks melted, and food has clearly been sitting for over an hour.

This isn’t a one-off issue- it has happened repeatedly at Coronado. Staff are polite and acknowledge the problem, and some have even said they would escalate it. But there’s no way to call the shop, no option to escalate myself, and I’ve never once been offered a remake of the drinks. Leadership follow-up appears nonexistent, despite my documented screenshots and consistent feedback.

Great product, great people, but the broken ordering system continues to ruin what could otherwise be a five-star experience

In a world of Starbucks, Dutch Brothers, and all those other crazy chains, cartel really brings it home with that down home feeling like the coffee shops I grew up with in Arizona. What they did with this historic old house really keeps me coming back every time I visit town. They have an awesome variety of beans available, we picked up some of the cold brew, this should be fun!

The location in downtown Phoenix has come to be my favorite Cartel coffee location. Today I got an iced matcha latte with vanilla and lavender and it was perfect. The matcha is good quality and it wasn’t too sweet. The customer service was very nice and helpful as usual! I also recommend any ole’ latte because their espresso is delicious. I also really like their cold brew.

A great coffee shop with a wonderful vibe! Artwork from local artists all over the wall for sale, and a wonderful menu. Almost every table is full of people studying for school or working remotely, and it has the perfect noise level for it.
