Ordered lavender matcha today, it was absolutely delightful. Staff is really friendly and welcoming. Greg took my order, super kind with a great sense of humor. He did latte art for my friend, it was so cute. Ask him to make one for you, their espresso tastes amazing! They also sell roasted coffee beans. Atmosphere was great, good seats and lots of charging ports. Quiet and good for studying, very tidy and clean, and impeccable music choice! I would definitely come visit frequently now that I know this place exists! Shoutout to Greg!!!

I don't know what they do for their drip coffee but if you are reading this before going, DO NO buy it. I think it's fair to judge a coffee shop based on the black drip coffee. tasted like sour milk.

One of the best spots for a coffee in az, not only for the rich taste of the beans (and delicious non-coffee options) but for the baristas 🙌 A good barista can really make or break your visit. They bring the vibes, for better or for worse, to the whole place - and Abigail certainly delivers. Plus, my dog loves her, and she can be quite discerning 🤣

The environment is very cozy with lots of natural lighting. Plenty of outlets and tables for studying. The staff was very fun and cheerful with a special shoutout to my home boy Greg for the beautiful foam art I got with my coffee. Definitely will come back with a group of friends to study and work on homework.

I think with the saturation of new cafes that come and go in the phoenix area, it's ones like Cartel that thrive in all of it by staying true to their core - simplicity and quality. It could be a day apart, or a year, a cortado tastes the same level of great. Coronado's atmosphere is comfortable and cozy, it feels like a community seeing the same regulars there everytime. The staff is friendly and helpful. I'm writing this review because one in particular, Abigail, has been the highlight of my visits. Her approach is casual but confident, an honest person who makes real connections with patrons. There's no pressure when I visit and that's what keeps me going there. The convos are quick but genuine, and I love the variety of latte art she leaves me everytime. Coming from the industry in the past she has qualities of a veteraned barista, I hope Cartel allows her a path of growth down the line. This location and team make me miss working for 1st St.

I absolutely love this Cartel location! Living in the neighborhood, it's such a treat to have a coffee spot so close to home that has such a bright atmosphere and the sweetest staff! They are always so kind, talkative, and welcoming. My coffee order rarely ever changes, and every single time, my cappuccino is made perfectly. I also have a baby boy who gets to roam around the shop, sit at the tables, and feel completely welcomed, which means a lot to me as a mom! Truly adore this spot, their coffee, and the staff!

I really like the cartel coffee in Tempe, but this is nothing like it. The latte was OK at best, they sell over priced blueberry muffins with no way to warm it up, and they dont have whipped cream so no pup cup for your companion. The place was run down and way under staffed. It took 20min to get out order. The only good thing is the friendly staff. Too bad the management is obviously not concerned with the consumer. As much as I dislike Starbucks I would rather go there.
