While the food, the service, and atmosphere, we're all superb, the presentation was a work of art. The prices, while somewhat lofty, we're well worth the price. Nestled in the Desert Botanical Gardens, this restaurant matches its surroundings with class and elegance. Though parking is somewhat confusing, just enter the Gardens main gate,turn right and you're there. Although not mentioned on the Google app, Gertrude's is open at 8 AM on weekends for brunch....
Shawn took amazing care of us, and provided exceptional brunch service. It is a lovely setting, nice and quiet on a Sunday morning, and located in the beautiful botanic Gardens. The frittata, Barbacoa egg bowl, and breakfast burrito were all wonderful. Shawn brought us an amazing homemade lemon, thyme, ginger syrup to add to our coffee/tea, and it was amazing. We had a great brunch with wonderful service! Highly recommend!
We had eaten at Gertrude's previously & were impressed with the setting, service & food high caliber. The setting & service were still good this time around but the food was disappointing : served too quickly; cool food; too dry cinnamon toasts as if pre- prepared; uninspiring wines. The change sadly may keep us from returning to a place we considered exquisite but now view as more ordinary.
