I and two friends enjoyed the experience offered by Gertrude's. The service was excellent, the food was well prepared, the sound level allowed visiting without challenges. The slight hiccup was the flies. While there weren't many, they were intrusive. Overall it was a wonderful experience as the solar lights were just starting and created an amazing view while one ate and visited! We hope to go again!
Peaceful atmosphere for a date night. Food options were good and cocktails were strong. Service excellent and kind.
This was our first time going since Mark Tarbell took it over. It was no surprise that our experience was fantastic. The food was amazing (I'm craving the vegan tacos) as were the drinks and service. Gertrude's will definitely be in our rotation in addition to The Tavern and Tarbell's.
Patio Café is a lovely restaurant with a beautiful outdoor patio, perfect for a special occasion. The menu offers a variety of delicious dishes, including the cauliflower and shisito appetizer, rice noodles, and lentil bowl. Customers have enjoyed the chilled soup, elote fritter appetizer, and the American breakfast and steak Benedict dishes. The staff provides wonderful and prompt service, making for a great dining experience, although they may need additional staff during busy periods. Some customers have noted that the front of the house was not managed well, as they turned away many people despite several empty tables. The patio area, surrounded by plants, can get warm in the summer, but it's well-covered and breezy, making it a nice spot for a meal. The restaurant is a good go-to when enjoying an evening at the nearby Desert Botanical Garden. The menu features high-quality food choices at reasonable prices, though a bit on the higher side. Overall, Patio Café offers a pleasant dining experience with good food and service, and guests are encouraged to try the botanical rosebud gin drink.
