“Gertrude's is a good go-to spot when enjoying an evening at the Desert Botanical Garden. High quality menu of food choices. Reasonable priced though a little on the higher side. Decent drink menu but would prefer higher end choices of liquor and wine. Usually sit at the bar. The service is pretty good. They try really hard but on a Friday and Saturday they need two bartenders for the dinner rush. It's good and I recommend. With a few tweaks it could be even better.“

“Trying some new bakeries and breakfast spots around Arcadia and stopped by Essence for a bite this past week.

I ordered the Egg Sandwich and thought it was delicious. The bun was so soft and eggs were cooked perfectly. The French Scrambled Eggs went well with the baguette, which also came with a jam that was to die for. I could eat this breakfast every day! The coffee and pastry didn’t disappoint either!“

“8/24/24: almost a month late but Coco Shack is a place to remember. This particular Saturday afternoon we were in the area for styrofoam recycling and got hungry. While searching for a place to eat lunch, we got lucky -- Coco Shack was a couple doors down from lunch. So glad we stopped in for a drink.

The gentleman behind the counter was very nice, explaining their drinks and making sure we know they are NOT a boba tea house. Reading their menu it was hard to settle on what to try but what we ended up with were delicious and stopped the sweet tooth cravings.

The decor is very fun and playful, some cool items such as the cat wood puzzle next to the register. Coco Shack is not in our neighborhood (about 20 miles away) but if we are in the area again, we will be certain to stop in -- and with any luck, this locale will prove successful enough that a second (or more!) location will be opened up closer to us.“

“I like the vibe. Service was good and not so good. The bartender wasnt really friendly but the server was so it made up for it. Quinoa Banana Pancake were actually really good. The Asia Bowl was ok. I couldnt get the chilaqiles for some reason. I like the type of fries they have a lot. I'll check it out again sometimes.

“Excellent coffee, teas, and vegan munchies. Fun and imaginative drinks for any mood. Highly recommend trying any of their coffees or teas with their various flavored foams. The iced blueberry tea with blueberry foam is light, refreshing, and out of this world. Steep is also a warm and inviting place to come hang out and work. I am usually disappointed with vegan food offerings in coffee shops, but their breakfast sandy is delicious! The slaw in the sandy takes it over the top.“

“It was a wonderful experience! The owner is so friendly and the food is amazing! They made sure our meal just as we had hoped and just how we asked. ❤️ I asked for Texas french toast and for it to be extra crispy if possible. After I took a few bites, they asked how I liked it and if it was crispy enough. I told them I loved it but next time, I’d order it even crunchier. Guess what they did…this is awesome…they offered to recook it and make it crunchier and THEY DID! I can’t wait to go back-I’ll be more specific next time because, they all work so hard and I don’t want them doing extra work. If you love family and you love food, go to Kay’s!“

“I love the broccoli and tofu (instead of chicken), kids love the pork soup dumplings and home style spicy noodle soup! Also love the mango smoothie. Super clean restaurant, very nice staff. Highly recommend!

“Temporary Cafe at the Phx Art Museum was Amazing! I believe her name was Dani.. provided a top tier experience and excellent service! She was so helpful and kind and answered all of our questions. We tried the caramel lattes, teas, caesar salad, and fruit - it was all really good!! Was sad to see the palette close, but now I'm excited for what is coming based on our recent experience. Looking forward to coming back again!!“

“My firm is remote & I enjoy changing my work environment at coffee shops around central & downtown Phoenix. I've been to Sip around 8-10 times & love the environment there. The coffee & food are good (a bit pricey compared to others, but no real complaints). The male barista is always pleasant & welcoming. I usually arrive when the doors open - he always stops what he's doing to say hello & either takes my order or lets me know he'll be right with me. The female with long, dark hair always seems legitimately upset that she has to deviate from whatever opening task she's performing to tend to a customer. She has even made me feel like my presence inconveniences her. I realize people have bad days, so thought I'd give her the benefit of the doubt, but since it has happened more than once, I felt compelled to write this. Imagine feeling like you're walking on eggshells just trying to pay for a coffee?! But, in her defense, she gets nicer as the day goes on, so maybe she's not a morning person?!“

“We have been going to Nosh for over four years and it is our most favorite 'Local' restaurant all the way around! So good that we frequent Nosh a few times a week when we can. The bagels are delicious and always fresh and the burritos are heavenly. What makes their food so yummy is the positive energy of their chefs and staff who are always warm and friendly. Definitely a warm and cozy, inviting atmosphere where they make you feel like family!“

“My wife heard about Mis Raices Café through family and facebook. We are always looking to try new places around town. My wife, one of our daughters, and I stopped in this morning. The atmosphere was very positive and relaxed with the baristas and other customers. We each had a different drink choice: Duvalin Iced Latte, Marzipan Iced Latte, and a Carmel Iced Latte. All three looked amazing just from the presentation when the baristas made them. They all tasted just as amazing. Once we left we realized we may have been sitting next to the owner and his daughter. If we realized it when we were there we would have told him how impressed we were and it is one of the few we would beyond highly recommend to everyone. No doubt we have found a new favorite local spot we will definitely be coming back regularly. To the entire team at Mis Raices, you are doing a phenomenal job with everything. Thank you!“

“My husband and I went for the first time today. We were greeted as soon as we came in and were asked if we had ever been there before. I said no it’s our first time and so she proceeded to explain how the process works of choosing a tea and how we can ice or blend and even mix flavors. It’s a nice feeling when you walk in somewhere new and they help with explaining their product. We ended up choosing black tea milk boba with coconut and honey... We will definitely be returning due to great tea and customer service and AMAZING!!!!!!“

“Of the many, many Museums my wife and I have enjoyed visiting over many years across the country, no institution visited has what I call the best in-house bistro than the Musical Instrument Museum of Arizona. I was amazed at the offerings, not only in the diversity of their menu, but how they change seasonally, the quality and enjoyment of eating here enhancing the visit to this magnificent museum. Their menu encompasses global cuisine, grills, entrées, salads and more! My recommendation is, start your perusing of the galleries first, stop off to grab a bite, and continue your visit to walk off the fab meal or snack you’ve consumed. Take it from me, it’s excellent.“

You can enter from either side, but if you’re facing the building, the bathroom and coffee shop are on the left, and the bar and music are on the right. In the fall it’s so nice to sit on the patio and BS w your friends. They can make pretty much whatever you want in terms of drinks. Milk substitutes are available. There was even a vegan pumpkin ice cream this time (yummy). The baristas/bartenders are always so polite regardless of how busy they are. I would describe the atmosphere as cozy but groovy.“
