I love JL, and of all 3 of their current locations, their downtown Phoenix one is by far the coziest. Great for coffee with friends, a first date, or camping out and working on your laptop. When I find myself missing the boulangeries from when I lived in France, this is where I go. VERY high quality baked goods. The weekends can be crazy busy, but it's usually pretty nice on a weekday morning/afternoon.

You actually do need the chicken salad products sold to be in airtight containers while stored in the refrigerated display, even though they are made fresh regularly. Tiny hole in the covers.

Edited to add: people actually think Paris baguette is better?!? I am flabbergasted. That is like comparing a Michelin star restaurant with Panera. At JL everything is made from scratch while Paris is mass produced and just okay. Order a cruffin from JL patisserie and the difference is very obvious.
