“Wow! Wow! Wow! Zemam’s is a must try hidden gem in Tucson! My first go with Ethiopia cuisine and it was beyond fantastic! The spice profile of the dishes is amazing, very turmeric forward and with other spices that carry and compliment every bite, not the sometimes “flame you out” that can be associated with some local Sonoran dishes. Zemam’s presentation is totally authentic with the injera flatbread as the utensil for the meal verses a knife, fork and spoon (those available if you want). The menu is a vegetarian’s dream, very vegetable forward but also with meat options. I had the 1 meat and 2 vegetable option and they have a three vegetable option which is popular, Honestly, though not a vegetarian, I could have had all vegetable options, no meat, and would have been totally satisfied. The staff were so polite and outstanding and their back story about how and who the restaurant started is truly inspiring. Yes, I love a lot of our amazing Sonoran restaurants throughout Tucson but until you have tried Zemam’s Ethiopian cuisine, you’re list of fantastic ENESCO City of Gastronomy dining option is incomplete. You absolutely have to try and enjoy Zemam’s!“
