Solid prices for upscale atmosphere. Good food but had to wait a while.

Our meals and drinks took way too long - a dinner that should have been 1 hour took 2+ hours. It took about 30-40 min after our drink orders to have the waiter come back for a food order, and after ordering a second round of drinks it took about 25 min to receive them. 3 stars because all of the food and drinks tasted very good

I must have gone on a busy night, because the food took a long while. The server constantly checked back with us to make sure we didn't need anything. Food quality was 8/10, noodles came out a bit too hard, but the pizza was great.

As patrons of North Italia for 12 years (first in AZ, then CA and CO), this is our singular worst experience from this past Sunday afternoon brunch service.

Arrived about 1:45pm, immediately seated. Decided to order two egg dishes: Tuscan Hash & Breakfast Pasta Carbonara, along with the Wild Shrimp Scampi starter, Italian donuts as a sweet ‘desert’ to follow the entree, and two iced teas. We used to order cocktails, until it became obvious that the North Italia bartenders tend to be ‘light pourers’ of alcohol, using either watered-down alcohol, or very low quality spirits.

Tea & iced water arrived 7 minutes later. Appetizer arrived 35 minutes after the order was placed. Shrimp dish was piping hot, overcooked, and chewy. I told the server to inform the kitchen that they’d left the shrimp in the broiler a bit too long. After another 20 minutes had passed, our server apologized for the delay, notifying us that our “ticket was the next one up”. What? We’d been there nearly an hour, and they were just now working on our ticket?

I asked our server if the kitchen hated her. What? I jokingly told her that the kitchen is either purposely slowing her down, or we’re just sitting at the ‘Table From Hell’. BTW - we’d watched a number of tables, seated AFTER us, receive their drinks and food, eat, pay their tabs, and leave.

Our food arrived 5 minutes later, with immense apologies from the manager, explaining they “were down 5 people in the kitchen”. He offered to provide us with an order of donuts; however, we told him we’d already ordered some. He was kind, apologetic, and clearly valued customer service.

The entrees were delicious, but our experience was already soured. What else could go wrong? Since our ‘desert donut’ order hadn’t arrived yet (about 20 more minutes had passed), we decided to ask for them to be packaged to go. The manager came to the table with the tab, explaining he’d ‘comped’ our appetizer and the donuts, and even gave us a further employee discount. Great, wonderful, appreciated, but why were we being comped on donuts that we hadn’t received? He hadn’t realized we’d not received them.

The server brought us a bag, containing the packaged donuts (3 bite-sized donuts - looking more like beniets - stuffed with an apple & brown sugar compote and drizzled with caramel sauce).

We paid the tab, tipping the server on what would have been the ‘pre-comped’ amount. In hindsight, we should have asked for the order to be packaged to-go immediately after the sad appetizer was brought to us.

Now that Tucson is our permanent home city, we will be extremely hesitant to return to North Italia, and will not be recommending it to our friends & family. Perhaps Locale will better suit our needs.

Super disappointing experience. Our food came out lukewarm, table next to us had loud drunks, and who pays $26 dollars for a mediocre personal size pizza..? I've come here a few times hoping it would get better but service and food only got worse. The only up side was a great attentive server.

We had a very pleasant experience at outside table. The service was excellent! Food is very good with lots of choices.

We had a wonderful family dinner with our 11 year old birthday girl who requested North. Judy, our server, was excellent and went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed or wanted and even jumped in to help with birthday extras: knife and candles for a cake we brought, yummy vanilla gelato. Judy had great suggestions for the kids too, Shirley temples and North's fabulous Cesar salad (croutons are excellent). It was an incredibly fun and delicious night and my mother in law loved her branzino entree. All five of us went home with happy stomachs and hearts.

NoRTH is always a reliable and delicious option for dinner. The selection of Italian dishes is extensive and everything is well prepared. We were seated in the middle of the bustling restaurant, and although it's a very fun energy to be surrounded by, it can also be a bit loud.

We celebrated our Grandfather's birthday and Jacob made our dinner the best ever. The food was wonderful but the service was incredible. Everything was 100% perfect and could not have been better. Jacob was the perfect server and we can't thank him enough for making the dinner extra extra special. Thank you North Italia!

Fantastic - as always! We've been enjoying North for many years now and it never disappoints.

First time here. We ordered the house specialty and the vodka past. Both were delicious. Our server was top notch but a little hard to understand because she spoke quietly and the noise level is high. Overall a great experience.

A nice, however pricey, place for an Italian meal. Brad should be free with olive oil. $10! The portion sizes were moderate to small. Vrey good wine list/selection. Somewhat noisy. It is a popular place.

Waiter did not introduce himself, immediately went to drinks. The drinks took longer than expected for a restaurant that was not at all crowded, including the patio in front. Waiter did not check on us for drinks which eventually came.We put in our food order, again another long wait. Other people who sat down after us received their food. Our order was small plates, arancini, salad and order of meatballs which eventually came. Food was good wine was very good. When it came time to pay the bill, asked the waiter why so long to get our food and drinks and he said there was a large party on the patio. When we left, the patio was not busy and it definitely was not busy when we arrived. We have been to North many times, perhaps it is time to move over to Tavolino across the street.

Would have like to have been offered Parmesan cheese for our pasta. For the price the portions seemed small. More like appetizers size. Food very delicious
