We went to Tucson for a weekend and ate at Penca. They do have a smaller menu but those items are amazing. The salsas that come with the chips are all amazing and flavorful. We had the tacos and they were phenomenal. I had the carne asada which reminded me of the carne asada I used to eat when I lived in the Midwest and the chunks were huge. The food here was great: ceviche, vegan chile releno, nice wine, excellent chips, salsa and guacamole. Staff was helpful, friendly, and efficient.
There’s outdoor seating on the sidewalk, which we enjoyed, but if you sit out there be prepared for loud cars and the occasionally obnoxious pedestrians.

There were seven of us for a 7:30 pm dinner. The restaurant was busy but not packed. Service was excellent. Most of us had different taco combinations. I had the prickly pear tacos, fish tacos, and carne asada tacos. All were delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their meals
