Yamato is an outstanding traditional Japanese restaurant featuring master-prepared sushi, perfectly crisp tempura, donburi, homemade gyoza, ramen, curries, and katsu. Service is excellent. Venue is not new, but is spotlessly clean and welcoming. This is a restaurant for those who enjoy real, authentic Japanese sushi and cuisine. I highly recommend.
This place is wonderful. Nothing fancy, just great food and great service. Chef Nakajima and server Alice make everyone feel welcome if they can fit you in. I highly recommend it.
Very pleasant restaurant with a laid back vibe that feels almost nostalgic when it was my first time eating in. Very caring staff. You can tell that the people who prepare the food take a lot of pride in it. Very tasty and authentic. My partner and I went to Japan last year, and this is by far the closest Japanese food we’ve had here in Tucson to the real thing. We had the katsudon, tonkotsu ramen, salmon nigiri, tuna nigiri, unagi nigiri, and a Philly roll. 10/10 will be back!
