It’s exactly what you would expect: okay food in a lovely venue. We did the tourist this and got the Butter Chicken Poutine which was delicious but also not exactly mind blowing.

We stopped at The Blue Poppy Restaurant for lunch during our visit to The Butchart Gardens and were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. For a cafeteria-style restaurant inside a popular tourist attraction, the quality exceeded our expectations.

We ordered the seafood pasta, which was generously loaded with prawns and scallops. It was rich, flavorful, and so delicious that our kids polished it off in no time.

We also tried the Butter Chicken Poutine, a Canadian classic with a creative twist. Crispy French fries were topped with cheese curds, rich butter chicken curry, roasted cashews, and other flavorful toppings. It was absolutely outstanding—comfort food at its finest and almost impossible to stop eating after the first bite.

The restaurant overlooks the beautiful gardens through large picture windows, making it a lovely place to relax and enjoy the scenery while you eat.

Service is cafeteria-style but fast and well organized, with friendly staff and prompt delivery to your table. A wonderful lunch stop during a visit to The Butchart Gardens.

Always a wonderful place to take a break and enjoy a meal. Enjoyed the days soup and roll. BTW- if you're a Butchart 12 month pass member you enjoy a discount! Appreciate Miriam and the Blue Poppy team...Great teamwork!

After clearly ordering seafood risotto, telling the cashier that was my order. I had three different servers tell me my order was for a burger not risotto and they were not going to give me my proper order. No apologies, just I was wrong. Don't bother eating here, take your business somewhere else. Added a star as the manager finally came over and apologized and offered to refund or provide a complimentary risotto.

Servers were in a rush to get our plates even if we were still in the middle of eating. They were actively touching our dishes when they have not even asked us yet if we were done! Five servers asked us almost every minute or two if we were done! Food was bland especially the seafood risotto.

Dining here is such a great experience.

Stick with basics, the burger or a salad.
Today I had a burger and it was the best one I’ve ever had out there. The fries were crispy and good. Needs less salt on the fries though. Berryman Farms beef, house made buns and sauce. Was delicious. I will order extra sauce next time though. It was a true smash burger, with lacey crispy edges.
2 burgers and one pop was $55.

Got the seafood chowder and the rigatoni pasta dish. The chowder was pretty good but the pasta was very sour.

It was a nice place to stop by while visiting the garden. The food wasn’t quite at the same level as the dining room menu, but it was still decent overall. That said, considering the price, the risotto portion felt quite small and didn’t have much seafood.

The burger was pretty good, and the cheesecakes were definitely a highlight—both the raspberry and lemon were excellent. The salted caramel was a bit lacking in flavor, but the other two more than made up for it.

The short ribs and butter chicken were very good. The seafood pasta was a disappointment. Very, very little seafood. Shrimp the size of a dime. Stoggy and overwhelmed by the pesto. They need work on this dish.

Food terrible, crazy overpriced for terrible food we could not even finish the food it was so bad

The food is really bad for the price and I think they took the cafeteria experience literally.

Tip don't ever get the kids pasta no matter what it is the worst thing ever we thought our sister could even work here.
