I've been to this restaurant twice now, both solo, and while I would kind of call the food somewhat above average, the atmosphere very cozy and clean, but the service at least when I went in solo was very minimal. I'm used to bartenders/servers being super friendly and personable, but here from what I gather it's a bare minimum amount of interaction; which might be what you're looking for.

And sure, I get it. I'm on my own. I'm not in a big party with a huge bill, but I might be someone that's testing the waters to bring a crowd around in the future, but based on my experience, no.

Food poisoning! Got a salad served with orange, wilted leaves, too much dressing and an absolute mound of blue cheese. Tried to point this out to the server and she sent a manager with a bowl of lettuce, to add to my already poorly made greasy salad. Then I was sent the bill for this mess. I returned to my hotel with stomach pains within the hour and severe cramps. Stayed in bed at the hotel for the next 3 days. Gabby at the Arbutus Room saved me by bringing me a fruit bowl the next day. Don't eat at the pub, go to the Arbutus room instead where there are nice people with big hearts.

Truffle fries were nice, sushi was good, chicken wings were tasty. Seafood chowder, however, was too thick and had an off taste. Service was good. View was pleasant. Unfortunately, we were seated among a number of other groups, and it was quite loud. We struggled to understand each other.

Hosted my parent’s 25th anniversary here in the garden room. Everything was set up beautifully and looked great. The 2 servers (I believe one was named Emma) were incredible, and gave great and timely service to our group of 40. Food and drinks were tasty and came out pretty quick. I would definitely recommend the pub for hosting any events!

Extrodinary patio on a sunny day. Georgeous view and don't miss out on the sushi. Perfect place for a Happy Hour as well, try the double smash burger, yum!

Wow what a disappointment! It is not often that our family of four adults are able to go out to dinner together, we chose Brentwood Bay Pub. I am a huge fan of your seafood chowder, so much so that when others go there for dinner they bring me home a container of your chowder. Below is a list of what we ordered and have had in the past an loved. We have been enjoying your food since you opened, usually 5 star.

Brentwood Chowder – watery and bland, very little fish sent back half uneaten

Cobb Salad – received with blue cheese when we ordered feta instead, sent back to be fixed

Short Rib Pappardelle – bland and watery

West Coast Tagliatelle – shrimp throughout the dish still had tails on, high spice level, couldn't taste the tomato sauce over the spice

Fish & Chips – were okay, not usual excellence, cole slaw was dry, not dressed at all

Spicy fries - were good

We tipped our usual as the service was good.
The food was so disappointing, not nearly worth what we paid.

We stopped in for afternoon snacks. My husband received a water glass with lipstick on it. The server replaced it without apologizing. We ordered chicken wings. The server brought plates for us to put the bones on... one had a hair on it, which I blew the hair off since we were only using for discards, but YUCK!!!! Perhaps staff should quality check things more closely.
