I got these dumplings/perogies or whatever this garbage is, but it says it has pork in it, but there’s either no pork or maximum 10% pork. It tastes like an absolute inedible garbage and it was the worst dumplings/perogies ever I had in my life. If you see it, never buy these. The worst $15 spent.
I used to love this shop and often stopped by to pick up the delicious cabbage rolls. Saturday I visited the store on Kingsway and was shocked that 2 cabbage rolls cost an extraordinary $16! I may not have minded if the cabbage rolls were exceptional but these lacked flavour and the dab of sauce didn't improve the taste. It is a shame this little shop that previously offered such wonderful home made items has declined so dramatically. Sadly, I will take 'A Taste of Ukraine' off my list.
Excellent! I have noticed Rye Bread getting hard to find. But not here. Nice heavy loaves of different rye breads to choose from. Healthy and tasty. No more white bread for me. My first time here. The Ukrainian potato salad is sooo delicious. Nothing compares. Lots of great deli meats, smoked fish, and the Sour Cream loaf dessert I bought was heavenly. I will be regular here. Lots of wonderful healthy foods to discover. Great Store. Great Service
I bought some of their chocolates. Sadly, all were low quality and have an awful taste. I don’t recommend them at all. It’s just a waste of money. Soon or late, they will pay off for their action.
Bright, super clean store. Cheerful and really helpful staff. Big selection of spices, candy, preserves, fish and meats.
Definitely a go to store if you want to treat yourself something tasty.
5 stars for keeping the shop tidy and clean. Many places i've been to don't meet sanitary norms.
Went to get cabbage rolls today……2/$16.00! Very disappointing. They were filled with dry rice and a bit of meat. They fell apart when you cut into them. They had very little flavour and no sauce on them. Will definitely not be returning……used to be so good…….what happened???? ?
Brought the $8.5 “black rye bread” and it tastes absolutely like nonsense. It is so hard and weird tasting.
They are selling russian products, I found a lot of items from russia. It is a shame for shop that represent itself as Ukrainian. Why don’t you support Ukrainian products?
This place has gone downhill in recent years. We love the product but when the most popular items are not stocked, it is frustrating to pay for parking only to find out you can’t get what you want. The prices have increased dramatically and the quality and quantity has declined. Cabbage rolls are now $10+ per roll and aren’t as good.
Sad to see. Used to love this place.
Taste of Ukraine has the best perogies (varenyky) I have ever found!! They are fantastic and just like my grandma (baba) made! Their frozen perogies are WAY better than any other restaurant or deli/store I’ve ever been to, anywhere in BC or Washington.
Restaurantji Recommends
I have made purchases from this location several times over the last few years. But this will be my last. $50 for 4 cabbage rolls and 2 servings of borscht. This time the cabbage rolls are flavorless, mostly rice with and barely any sauce. The beef borscht was mostly broth with only tiny shards of beef and few vegetables. It tasted ok, but not nearly as tasty as usual. Definitely not worth the cost.
Can't recommend that store anymore. They sale expired and low quality products. What a shame.
Outstanding Ukraine ?? food
All the products here are from Russia, this store has nothing to do with Ukraine... they are deceiving. All the products here are from Russia, this store has nothing to do with Ukraine... they are deceiving
The name of the store and the assortment is very impressive from the first time! The sellers are very friendly! But it is very unpleasant to buy some goods of another manufacturer. I would like to support my producers.
