Pleasantly surprised by Banshan. Came here with my wife and some friends, and we were a little skeptical given the 3.5 stars on Google, but they definitely exceeded our expectations.
We ordered mild for all our skewers, and they were less cumin-y and spicy, and sweeter than the mild at places like Happy Tree, but still very tasty. Very pleasantly surprised by our dining experience! The AYCE tiers were very comprehensive, there were tons of things we wanted even at the lowest tier of $36 per person.
The chicken and pork belly skewers were our favourite - not as cumin-heavy as other Chinese BBQ places like Happy Tree. Finally tried Banshan BBQ after hearing about it for years, and it has quickly become my go-to spot when I’m craving skewers without driving all the way to Richmond. Their buffet-style menu has three tiers, with each level adding more options, and there are quite a few Northeastern-style cold dishes to choose from.
