Best sushi and Japanese for 100’s of miles. But it’s on Haida Gwaii — no other sushi or Japanese for 100s of miles. On the other hand, the food is truly excellent and I can’t wait to go back every time I visit HG. Also, I live in the BC lower mainland (Mecca for sushi) and I still love the sushi here. (Except maybe one time the edamame was a bit too salty).
This place deserves a better review than it has. The sushi lunch box was amazing. Every little piece of it was done quite well. The staff is unfortunately understaffed but that’s not their fault, blame Covid. You can see all of the hustling to get the food out as fast as possible.
