“It had been years since we’d eaten here, back when the restaurant was Longshots, so we were curious to see what had changed with the remodel and the new Dice Kitchen & Bar.

This place has definitely stepped things up a level or two. The new look is warm and comfortable, the menu is more interesting than I remember, and the presentation of the food was excellent. It happened to be fairly quiet during our visit, which actually made the evening feel intimate and private — a really nice night out for the two of us.

We shared the tempura prawns and spinach dip. The prawns were crispy, flavourful and beautifully presented. At around $16 for six, I did find them a little pricier than I expected, but they tasted fantastic. The spinach dip was outstanding — rich, hot and absolutely loaded with flavour.

What impressed us most, though, was the wine list. We’re big supporters of the Okanagan wine industry, and seeing a wine list devoted entirely to wines from right here in the Okanagan Valley was fantastic. These wineries and the families behind them are an important part of this region, and it’s great to see a local restaurant supporting them so thoroughly rather than simply putting one or two local bottles on the menu.

Our server Maria was friendly and attentive throughout the evening and added to an already enjoyable experience.

“We celebrated our son’s birthday here at Lakeside Dining Room on July 12, and it turned out to be an unforgettable night thanks to their incredible staff.

Midway through dinner, we got a text alert that our dog was barking back in the room, so my husband had to rush out. When we reached out to the manager to sort things out, they were exceptionally kind. Not only did they treat us to the drinks and appetizers we had already enjoyed, but they also went out of their way to help us book a table at another restaurant in the resort that welcomes dogs.

The food was top-tier—seriously so good. We couldn't even finish everything because the portions were generous, but we're already dying to go back.
