“My husband and I dropped in for lunch this afternoon and had the most friendly , down to earth waitress serving up some delicious eats. Hubs ordered the badass burger and was super stoked with his meal! Can’t beat the made in house burgers with all the fixings! I ordered the geyser sushi roll and was filled up without feeling grossly full. Worth the stop when in Nanaimo!“

“Well, the service was really good wish I knew our waitresses name she was awesome.. friendly and absolutely awesome with my grandkids, the kids loved her so much the made pictures for her to keep ? the food was out in a reasonable amount of time and good and hot. I would recommend this place all-around better than the other restaurants in the south end of nanaimo.“

“Had a great experience at Simonholt last night. Staff were friendly and quick to serve us. We enjoyed the patio and our meals as well as learning from Tricia, whose service was excellent, that there is live music here on some Sundays.

Our meals were delicious and satisfying, and we were entertained by Marilyn, the owner, as she told us more about the jazz and blues artists who come to perform at her establishment, as well as her own work in the theatre. We were also pleased to see the rooms up and downstairs for holding events.

There’s a lot going on at Simonholt, and we’re looking forward to returning for more meals and entertainment!“

“Service was great, food is always good - SO LOUD it is always so difficult to hear and we had to shout at the table. The music is loud which makes people talk louder and it is just not pleasant. I love the renovations that were done, looks great. Not sure what you can do about the noise level, it is a deterrent for me to go in.“

“Ricky's Grill is the absolute bee's knees. I was outside of my house this past week trying to remove a bee's nest with my SuperBees Kit and it ended up backfiring on me and I got stung. Being a businessperson, this was a problem as I had many business deals to make and paperwork to put into my briefcase. When I arrived at Ricky's with my bee stings, I ordered some french fries and they were quite the dandy. I would definitely eat here.“
