“I absolutely love this place. Oso Negro has such a cool atmosphere, great (strong) coffee and very friendly staff. I've come to Oso quite a few times and every time that I've been there, it's felt like a little piece of heaven on earth. The building and garden are stunning.
I've gotten a few different muffins from Oso and all of them have been scrumptious - they seem to often experiment with new flavours and combos which I think is great.
The coffee is definitely high quality. It's very strong and they don't have many options for sweeteners, so keep that in mind if you like your sweet fraps and lattes.
I tell any friends and family to stop by Oso when they're on their way through/to Nelson, for good reason! Truly a wonderful cafe.“
“Acorn and Oak was the perfect solution for my husband and I to be able to both partake in the full evening at a wedding. Arranging the care for our daughter was a breeze. They catered services to meet our needs and provided advice and offered ideas to solve logistical challenges. Service was professional, she was kind and most importantly became quick friends my 20 month old daughter. I highly recommend Acorn and Oak and if you’re thinking about getting childcare for your kid or a group of kids at an event, you can’t go wrong here!“

“Delightful, casual, local cafe with history in the area. Charlie & Daylen served us the featured sandwich (breakfast burrito) & our coffees. We probably could have shared the burrito it’s so hearty & big! Come with an appetite. They serve no.6 coffee (also a locally brewed brand) and feature a local artist on a gallery wall. A great spot for a Baker Street hang. I even stuck around to get some work done after my lunch meeting.“

“Beautiful historic hotel. Great food. Community oriented. Nostalgic atmosphere. I love going to the Hume and recommend this spot to anyone at anytime.“
“I stop by the Starbucks in Nelson fairly often—usually during the busy morning rush or a bit later in the afternoon—and most of the time, the service is great. Some of the younger baristas can come off a bit snobbish now and then, but whenever I’m helped by the short-haired barista, it’s always a smooth and positive experience.
She’s consistently kind, focused, and professional—even when I’m ordering multiple drinks during their busiest hours. You can tell she genuinely cares about what she’s doing and treats everyone with respect.
Only thing missing is the option to leave a tip—I’d definitely leave one for service like that.“

“The staff are really nice and helped get water for my friend's dog too. The latté was great and the croissant was top notch. Looks like they have many wonderful baked things. The conversation was friendly. Only downside, it's a bit loud in the main part, but you can go on the patio and it's a little quieter there, also gloriously full of light.“
