great food and great customer service!!
Like their sister restaurant KOJO Penticton , KOYA Penticton is near (1 block) the beach! Offering a warm greeting, super fresh ingredients, traditional Ramen and beautifully created sushi rolls-it’s definitely a “MUST VISIT”! Reminiscent of Tokyo street food, the approach is efficient, healthy and creative so many can enjoy a beachside meal or a quick replenishment whilst enjoying wine/beer/spirit country.
Thoroughly enjoy the poke bowls, ramen, rolls, beers/sake...read full review

MAKU (former: KOYA Penticton) is a Japanese food spot with a different menu that peaks your interest. It offers the best sushi roll, poke bowl, and ramen, along with delicious lemon ginger tea and apple cider. The Spicy Pork Chashu and Poke bowls are fantastic, with very nice pork and fish. The food is awesome and authentic, with great flavour. The owners are exceptionally wonderful and will take very good care of customers, especially those with celiac disease who need gluten free options. The excellent gluten free sushi burrito is a highlight, though a little expensive at $16.50. It is an affordable place with fast service. While the food is decent, it is more westernized. The restaurant has good customer service, and the staff is pleasant and welcoming. The patio is dog friendly. However, it does smell of fried food inside, and a better air filter or hood would be suggested. There is lots of seating, and it is definitely the best place in town for the most delicious food.
