Umi is a good place to eat. First, there is a reserved seating for umi customers only. Second, they have a menu with a lot of options, like so many options. Third, the workers are working very hard to perfect the food. They look like if they're trying to make the best food in a competition. Finally, the food isn't too expensive. For a chicken bento box for $15.5, I would say it's good and affordable compared to Edo Japan.

The wait was a bit long (15+ minutes) which is fine because maybe the kitchen team had many orders to work on. However, the chicken bento box had barely warm (almost room temperature) rice and chicken, with too much teriyaki sauce pooled on one side making the rice swim π₯² tempura was hot and crunchy though :)
I think the main dish was plated too early while the tempura was being made so it got cooled off by the time we could pick up the order for dine in.
Ordered Teriyaki Chicken Ramen takeout but they forgot about chicken. Found out only when home.

Terrible service. We ordered an aburi salmon and negitoro made to order - they said none to order. Only premade. Comes with 4 small pieces for $14.
They have a full staff and kitchen in the back and just unwilling to make fresh food.

For food court standard it's not bad. Good thing about this place is they have tables separated from the food court.

I used to come here quite a few times and it was always pretty decent, but my visit this week was disappointing.
The cashiers were just chatting with each other and didnβt even acknowledge customers. The food quality also seems to have dropped β I actually got diarrhea after eating the sashimi, and the tempura wasnβt crispy at all. Not sure what happened, but I probably wonβt be coming back.

They charge a $1 extra if you have allergies and ask them to make a roll without sesames seeds. Then proceed to gossip about you as they make your food. Really great experience for a mediocre flavour.
Good selection of rolls, haven't tried their hot food. The BC Roll and Spicy Salmon Roll are delicious and fairly priced. Definitely recommended if you need something quick and tasty on the go.

It was definitely not what I expected, I ordered RAMEN and received noddles with meat.It does not taste good and does not look good, even a fly was close to my plate. I expected something better. My husband and son also do not like their dish.

Update 2025.08.07. Ordered their Chicken Bento for lunch, it looked interesting with different items. All of the supporting food choices were alright. But when it came to the chicken, it was dry, overcooked, disappointing. Not recommended.
Update 2025.07.30. Ordered a pork Katsu donburi that was too heavily coated. A much thinner coating on the exterior preferred. The pork was moist, not overcooked, but the thick coating was disappointing. Service was fairly quick, just a few minutes. Free WiFi, credit cards accepted.
