Umi Japanese Eatery & Udon Bar in Richmond Centre's food court serves up some fantastic sushi options. The Alaska & spicy combo Maki are both excellent, offering a great balance of flavors and freshness. The yam & avocado roll is a solid choice for a light and tasty option. The beef California roll stands out as well, with a delicious twist on the classic. Overall, Umi offers a satisfying sushi experience with a variety of options to enjoy, making it a must-visit spot for sushi lovers in the area!

The chicken here was piss poor quality. Tasted like it had been frozen and reheated a thousand times before it got to me. It disintegrated into paste in my mouth. When I opened Google and saw the 2.5 star rating it was already too late but it made total sense.

Umi’s place feels like it’s not as good as it used to be.

Food court sushi was okay.
The bento rice was okay. It was served hot.

It was just a little bit too expensive.

Ordered the tofu bento box. Everything just tasted like it had been re-heated. Rice was definitely old and clumpy. That night I had the worst food poisoning I’ve ever experienced. So bad that I called and ambulance because my hands and feet were going numb from the effort of throwing up. I know it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple weeks for food poisoning to happen, but I’m convinced it was from this place. Definitely avoid.
The rice was mixed wiith old, clumps of hard rice in the middle and on the bottom part, that only around 1/3 was chewable. Looks like the whole thing was just microwaved. The meat was not well done, tasted a bit raw. Was disappointed because the price has gone up to a few more dollars but their food and service was not as good as I expected. There's cheating and dishonesty. I hope the owner will realize how disappointing that was to customers like us! We will not definitely order from this eatery anymore. Lesson learned!

Poor customer service.
Not as quality food as they used to have.
The cashier threw the wait sign at us and kept staring at us while we waited for our food, because we didn’t tip, but it’s food court, she was so rude!

I ordered a beef bowl to go. This was the worst beef bowl I’ve ever had. Beef was really smelly and bad taste. The full meal was not even cheap (comes to $40, not worth it at all) I was super disappointed how bad quality of this food was. I ordered assorted tempura as a side order which I didn’t even need it ( same reason above + I got some tempura-ish stuff in beef bowl. It would’ve been nicer if they mentioned it at the counter. ?
