I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and I can confidently say it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a perfect balance of elegance and comfort.

The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly without being overbearing. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations. I was especially impressed by how quickly our food arrived, despite the restaurant being fairly busy.

As for the food—simply outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. I ordered pork hock, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and my dining companions were equally delighted with their choices. The ingredients were fresh, and you could tell a lot of thought and care went into the preparation.

To top it off, the dessert was a delightful end to an already perfect meal. Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner, a night out with friends, or a family gathering, Uncle Lu’s is an excellent choice. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience.

Our absolute favorite Taiwanese restaurant! Every single dish we tried was bursting with incredible flavor, and the pork hock was beyond unforgettable! The portions are plentiful, the atmosphere is amazing, and the staff is super friendly. We’ll be back!

I eat here every time I go to Vancouver, and this experience was the worst! The large portion of pig's feet was cut into larger pieces, not as flavorful as before, and was cold inside. I won’t be visiting again in the future.

The meatballs have a rubbery skin but taste good
The pig's trotters are delicious, but I prefer the noodles as a side dish
Crispy Salted Chicken and Sweet Potatoes are highly recommended and must be tried

We got the Lu rou fan, eggplant with minced pork, stir fried veg with garlic sauce, and fried chicken. Best was the popcorn chicken, although batter was a bit thick for my liking overall, the flavours were good and they were piping hot. The cabbage with also nice but cost almost $15 😳 the meat in both of the main dishes unfortunately did not taste fresh, and really detracted from the experience. I couldn’t finish either dish. I don’t like pork hock but it seems we should have tried that instead of what we ordered.

The general feel is a restaurant that is just okay… small-mid size portions for the price and not very good quality. Much better options elsewhere in Richmond so I won’t be returning ☹️

Extremely disappointed! I ordered pork leg rice from this restaurant, but what I received was a box filled entirely with extremely fatty meat that was impossible to eat. There was no lean meat at all, just chunks of fat, which is completely unacceptable for a proper pork leg rice. It feels like the restaurant is cutting corners and doesn't care about their customers. If you're looking for good pork leg rice, I strongly recommend avoiding this place!

Very disappointed! I ordered pig's trotter rice from this store, but was sent a whole box full of very fat, inedible meat, without any consideration for the customer's experience. The fat meat takes up the entire lunch box, without any lean meat, and it doesn't look like a normal pig's trotter rice at all. It feels like the store is perfunctory and has no sincerity in doing business. If you are looking for delicious pork knuckle rice, I highly recommend avoiding this restaurant!

The food was really good, and I enjoyed spending time with my family there—until it came time to pay for the lunch. I paid in cash and needed change. After the waitress took the cash, my family and I waited for her to return with the change, but instead, she started helping other customers. When I asked for the change, she went back to the counter and returned with it. However, as she placed the change on the table, she said, “Are you not satisfied with our service?”

I was taken aback because I had planned to tip but wanted to keep the coins and give the tip in cash separately. Before I could explain, she walked away. I found it odd because, in most cases, the change is returned first unless the customer states otherwise. Feeling uncomfortable after her reaction, I ended up leaving the coins as the tip rather than giving the amount I had initially planned.

Her attitude could have been better. This experience left me disappointed, especially since the meal had been so enjoyable up until that point.

Decent Taiwanese food

I like Taiwanese-style restaurant. Although the place is usually a bit small and the space between tables isn't very big, I enjoy being able to drop by casually for a quick meal. There are also big tables for a family. Pork hock is one of the dishes I always order when I visit. Their crispy chicken is also pretty good.

We order take out each time. Their pork feet is the best in town, unless you name somewhere else that I can try.
We are from Victoria, this is one of the takeout we bring home from Vancouver. Their quality of the food stays the same, but it’s getting more unaffordable, lol
