“We visited The Magnet on West Pender in Vancouver last night. It's owned by the same folks that run Brassneck Brewery (on Main, very decent beers) and the Alibi Room (on Alexander, great beer list, best veggie burger in town, great location). We've heard good things from friends and checked it out for their beer list which is vast and great choices (only BC beers these days as everywhere but excellent selection). They have slow pours for some of the pilsners and a side pull for others for a denser, creamier foam. Staff is very knowledgable about the beers and about the short but mighty natural wine list as well. The real surprise for us was the food though. We had heard good things about their pies (English Pork Pie, daily choices) and charcuterie board but as vegetarians we opted for the Grilled Carrots with Spiced Orange Glaze, Chana Dal, Spinach, Cilantro & Cashew Lemon Cream, served with Fried Flat Bread and the Whipped Feta & Olive Dip, Grilled Zucchini, Warm Balsamic Shallot Dressing & Housemade Olive Focaccia. We were majorly impressed by the presentation and taste of both. The warm balsamic shallot dressing was divine. SO GOOD. Everything fresh, on point and so delish. Highly recommend checking this place out when you are in downtown Vancouver.“

“Went for brunch for 4 of us. View is spectacular, food and drinks excellent, $6 mimosas! Our server was good at the beginning but as it got a bit busier the service was lacking, forgot to bring straws back, forgot our water. My friend said she was going to ask for an extra glass with ice but said if it takes him that long to remember our straws then her drink would be finished before he came back. Think he had too many tables to look after. Valet parking was $16 which was very convenient because there was no parking around that area“

“First time in Canada. Checked out a couple of bars while in Toronto. CRAFT in Toronto was the one for me. Great vibe. Very mellow. Huge variety of Canadian beers which I found to be more flavorful than American beers. Unbeatable service and hospitality from the manager to the hostess and everyone in between. The two nights I spent there were without a doubt the most pleasant bar experiences I’ve ever had. Thanks a lot for making my stay in Toronto the best it could be.“

“We came here for dinner to order their spicy mazesoba, ramen, and pork gyoza. It was our first time to try mazesoba, so delicious. I can taste the grinded fish and minced pork was combined properly with a lot of spices. The runny yolk made the noodle creamy. You can add rice at the end to mix with the leftover spicy grinded meats. They offer upsize bowl for free.“

“Our waitress Jaclyn was a real crowd pleaser! She was high energy from the first hello to the final goodbye. She got to know us and when she learned about our love of pickle backs… next thing we know there is a round coming to our table! What a great surprise and a fun way to transition from dinner to the concert we were seeing. The Sports Bar also had staff present to help direct and walk along customers from the sports bar to a near by door for easy access to Rogers arena as a private event was blocking the usual door. This was a nice touch as we feared we would have to wait in the long lines outside in the rain. Once again the team at the Sports Bars went above and beyond. LOVE bringing friends and family here for dinner before Canucks Games and other events at Rogers! Thanks SB Team! See you again soon!“
“I was on one of my spur-of-the-moment long wandering walks on a very warm sunny Friday afternoon for my vitamin D intake. It was just after noon when I was on the False Creek Seawall approaching Science. I needed lunch and a cold drink and I remembered a friend had recommended RTB to me. The GPS on my phone soon promptly took me there.
It was after the lunch rush by the time I got there. It wasn’t very busy and I was able to find a table on the patio after I had placed the order.
I took my Road Trip Classic Lager with me to the table while I waited for my corned beef hash with fried eggs. The lager was crisp, light and refreshing and it went down quickly but I made sure there would be enough left with my lunch.
My over easy eggs on the hash was fried perfectly with brown edges while the yolks were still running to allow the creamy cholesterol goodness seep down to the potatoes and corned beef pieces underneath. The hash was seasoned perfectly with no spices overpowering the potatoes and corned beef pieces.
I had a very nice lunch in a somewhat industrial surroundings. Other than a transport truck backing in to the loading dock next to the patio when I was there, everything else seemed to have come to a standstill affording the patrons a lazy Friday afternoon.“
“Love R&B for the atmosphere and awesome beer, have been coming to this place for ages. This is just a warning - THE CITY IS RUTHLESS ON PARKING TICKETS HERE! There is only 1hr parking on the entire block, so don't stay for more than a pizza and a pint! Seems unfortunate for the business.“

“Our server was wonderful. She was very attentive and always there to fill our water glasses and check for our orders. We were there for the Happy Hour and it was great value for money. It was a nice sunny afternoon sitting outside. I noticed there were no heaters and may be they will install them when fall season kicks in.“

“I went for dinner with my friend and it was such an amazing experience, we admired everything about it from the ambiance to the service to the food. We also appreciate how the staff recommend what sauce to use with the select of dumplings we got to get the best experience.“
