Our dinner here was some of the very best Indian food that I have eaten outside of India. Tandoori pear salad and tandoori portobello were creatively presented and amazingly tasty. Dal Bukhara and Paneer Butter Masala were both very well executed. And we then finished with Millet pudding, a modern and vegan take on the classic Kheer -- it was a perfect finish to an outstanding meal. We also really appreciated the attentive and really friendly staff. It was a fabulous dining experience!

All the food was good . We really enjoyed the onion bhajiyas , the buratta , as well as the samosa kale chat was good too . Infact the starters were a tad bit better than the mains . For mains we had ordered the Amratsari kulcha .. which was a meal itself, the chicken vindaloo ( needed to be spicer ) ,the malvani chicken, and the shrimps/ prawns Konani , we also ordered the butter nan , garlic nan as well as the parathas. The only disappointment was that we weren't informed that the restaurant was closing so when we went to order a dessert we were told the kitchen was close .

We went there for New Year's Eve reading the reviews, the food was average. The menu said after 9:30pm, everyday there are happy hours, we had ordered a few items from there, but we were charged regular price, they mentioned it's an old menu, then why was it offered to us, or not mentioned before. The service was also below average. My daughter ordered a drink, which she didn't like, we complained and they said it was made in the morning, and they can't do much about it. But we will not be charged. When the bill came we were charged for the drink too, and they said oh you didn't agree to it, later they removed it though as we didn't drink it. There is hardly any parking, we had to opt for a $21 valet parking, so count that as an additional expense. Overall experience, specially on a special day, not worth it.

I ordered the chicken vindaloo which was delicious with a spiciness to it and my mother got the lamb lollipops whose sauce was mild but also delicious. The portions were large -- we could easily have shared a main dish but glad to have experienced both dishes!

A recent Vancoucer Sun review compared Desi favourably to another Vancouver Indian restaurant that is a Michelini bib gourmand. That seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Sorba, naan, motichur cheese cake was delicious. The manchurian cauliflower was average felt refried. Overall very nice restaurant. I would go back to try some of the unique drinks and appies.

Loved the food and the Christmas special. Did not like that the server questioned whether we could order the advertised special. The tables were also really small and too crowded. Would like to go again when it is less busy.

A fantastic meal ... delicious and perfect ... the set tasting menu with the wine pairing ... served so sweetly by every member of their front of house staff. This was our first time ... we can't wait to come to return to try the rest of their menu.

Our party of four had the 5 course tasting menu with the wine pairings. All the courses were delicious, the ambiance and service was excellent. The owner, Deepak came by several times to check up on us. Our server, Nisha C and Bar man, Pemba were very attentive. The tasting menu was reasonably priced and was a fusion with great presentation.
Delicious food and excellent service in a beautiful colourful room where you can easily carry on a conversation! An added bonus beautiful washrooms with the most fun sink!

I love this place! Service, authenticity and vibe ♥️ Have tried almost everything on their menu and I must say it brings me closer to home. This time I am adding a review because they went above and beyond. I ordered via doordash but they missed the chutney. When I called them up, their staff member came personally and gave me the chutneys and a surprise dessert, Gulab Jamun! That’s how you win hearts. Great job guys. You are amazing 🤩

We recently hosted my husband’s 50th birthday party at Desi Indian Lounge, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, Deepak (the manager) was phenomenal—his communication was clear, timely, and so accommodating. The pricing was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of service and food.
The food itself was a true standout. Every dish had its own distinct flavor, and our guests kept commenting on how delicious everything was. The drinks were excellent as well and really added to the celebration. The service throughout the evening was warm, attentive, and seamless.
Overall, we had an amazing time, and so did all of our guests. We highly recommend Desi Indian Lounge for any event or special occasion. We’ll definitely be back!
