“First time for us, attended a private function. Food was delicious and filling. The service was outstanding and extremely attentive. They had a vast array of sake and after ordering the sake flight (sampler tray), we found a few options that we really liked and ordered a couple of bottles. The sashimi was very fresh and delicious. There was an assortment of dishes that we tried that were on par with many of the high end restaurants, such as the egg omelet with crab ankake and the BBQ eel Unagi rice bowl. Street parking was easy to find. We’d definitely come back to Hashigo Sake Bar.“

“I’ve been there a couple of times, and I loved the food and affordable prices! Got the Taco Rice (bottom one on the pic), portion size is decent (not too big, not too small), tastes great. Staff were nice, the only issue is that when we were seated outside, it took a while to call the waitress. They were busy with other customers inside, but the ones on the patio feel left out. Overall, quality and taste of food is good, prices are very generous!“

“Hello: We had a very good experience. My Diva cocktail was delish. We had a window seat which was nice to look out over Gastown. Sashimi salad was excellent great dressing. Food came surprisingly quickly and was piping hot. We ordered the chicken Kara-age the chicken inside was super tender and outside crisp and hot. The octopus Takoyaki was great dipping sauce a delicous accompaniment. The Beef Udon (Guuu'd Yaki Udon) was good that dish could perhaps have had a stronger sauce it was quite mild tho the bonito flake gave it a great flavor. We would definately come here again!“

“2025.09.02. Izakaya restaurant is a common type of Japanese drinking pub with small snacks after work and the tab usually is much higher.

Came here to try out this place. Tonight very quiet, got seated without waiting . Complimentary snacks provided. Menu available online through their barcode with complimentary WiFi.

From their tapas menu, which means small plates, ordered a seaweed salad, and veggie rolls; from their signature menu, grilled unagi Kabayaki. Plus a bottled beer Coeda.

The food quality was all first rate, it doesn't mean large portions. The service was a bit too assertive, removing the beer bottle before having an opportunity to read the label. The atmosphere was dark, quiet. Credit cards accepted. This place is really good and recommended for its food quality. Just be aware of what you order as the tab gets expensive fast.“
