I was just here, weekend of 8/2-3 staying at the hotel next door with my girlfriend. Both myself and my gf are in the Bar/Beer industry so naturally we came to Howe Sound because it's attached to the hotel and I love craft beer. We came three times and each time Junie was our bartender/Rad Person on duty. She is how bartenders and people who interact with the public should always be like. She was super friendly, funny, and was always attentive, she even found time to banter back and forth with us while she was staying super busy. We got the Roni pizza twice because of how good it is, it has this jalapeño honey drizzle on top that just knocks it out of the park, the crust was perfect with zero flop. There was little to no grease and the toppings stayed put. As for the beer? It was super good. Clean lines and clean beer. You can always tell how good a beer is by how it comes to room temperature, these were spot on. Thanks again, Junie and East Van Howe Sound.

I went to Howe Sound for an late lunch and afternoon drink and it was great! The food came out so fast but it tasted amazing. I got the Caesar salad and dirty fries. The staff was so quick and kind. Junita stood out as being super chatty and friendly with great customer service. I even went back for their Drag Brunch this past weekend and had an even better time! The Eggs Benny with the artichoke and spinach is too die for. Overall super fun place!!

I go for special brunch events. They make an exquisite meatless eggs Bennie. The staff are pleasant but I always have to look to find a server. They take the order fine and it's brought to the table with minimal wait. A return a minute or two later and ask if you like it. And that's where the service stops. If you're missing anything or you'd like a refill of your coffee or you finish your meal and would like a dessert NADA!! You're on your own until the bill comes.
Aesthetically the place is better at night. The atmosphere would be greatly improved if they dimmed the lights.
Once again I have only been there for special events 4 times (which are open to the public ...tickets are sold through Eventbrite).
I don't know what it's like on a regular day or evening.

As a beer and massive atmospheric vibe girl, I saw all the reviews saying how the atmosphere was just not it here. I disagree. The ambiance here is like a funky dive bar, Tiki, hotel, beer lounge. Everything feels new and clean. Good little touches around. I thought it to be a funky beer lounge. That being said. The music needs a level up. I love Nelly furtado, but this place needs more of a lounge, underground feel for music. Not pop. I’m sad to see it so empty on a Friday night. I hope people see its potential!! Let’s support one of the oldest breweries! With some cool events and happy hours and specials I see this place booming!

Having been to Howe Sound Brewing in Squamish many times, which is good, I was keen to try out this place. I and three friends dropped by after a run for drinks and dinner. Their beer is good, of course. The food was ok, service was lacking, considering there were only four other people in the place. The atmosphere is certainly not there. One of my friends commented afterwards, that it was like going to Denny's for beers.

This is a very cool, clean and trendy bar with some private, semi-private rooms, right on East Hastings.
A good happy hour and friendly staff, and decent food!
We will be back!

I've been to many craft breweries including the mothership in Squamish, this location has a very odd vibe that just does not exude a craft beer hang out feel. It feels contrived with tiki bamboo columns, a bright kidney shaped swimming pool looking ceiling, odds and sods remnants flooring in one place and an unmatching floor in another. Random decor that feels like an Asian restaurant versus craft beer. Beer is good but small selection and same recipes as 5 years ago. 16oz beer was $8.50! Nothing they are doing here makes you want to stay or revisit. Weird and new but ordinary.
