After decades of hearing good things about the Haultain, finally got in there today, and was NOT disappointed. The couple that run it are lovely people, very sweet, so the service was excellent. And food was perfect, hot, fresh, and very tasty.....so good to find a spot for good fish & chips.....and we will be back again, in the not too distant future. le yum!

If you are looking for lightly salted , less greasy fish and chips and an ultra clean location ..try Haultains .. after being disappointed many times friends said.. “try Haultain’s halibut” … we did tonight ..we are very happy!! ?

Great little hidden gem I am glad we found. We were going to Barbs to find out they were closed and I said Google who is the best in YYJ and Haultain came up as #3. We jetted over there to find amazing service, healthy portions and a nice upkept little eatery. It was no surprise after a couple bites of halibut why the door kept flowing with local customers snagging their takeout. Also.....great candies when you bill comes! We will be back here again soon!
I would have to say that this is the best fish and chips I've ever had. My mom used to work here when I was a small child in the 70's and I hadn't been in years, glad I made it back in. The batter on the fish is the star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ at this restaurant. It has some kind of tang that tops any other. It's a small place but clean and I'm guessing the owners were working that night, very nice people. I live in Sidney but will come back here when I want some amazing fish and chips.
